The Greatest Hits started production in 2022 and was written and directed by Black Widow's Ned Benson.

It comes after fans were given the first look at Lucy in another of her projects - A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story.

The series tells the gripping story of the nightclub manageress who was hanged at the age of 28 after shooting her abusive lover David Blakely dead.

Set in 1955 in the glamorous and intoxicating world of London club-land, Ellis found huge acclaim as the capital's youngest club manager.

But her success soon unravelled as she became entwined in an abusive relationship with racing driver David. On trial for his murder, Ellis was condemned to hang by a system which judged her for far more than her crime.

An exclusive image shows Lucy embodying Ellis's elegance, as she sports bright blonde finger wave locks exposing bling earrings and casually holds a lit cigarette.

The star smirks from her ruby red-painted lips and looks glamorous in a strapless red bodice.

Of the first look at Lucy, executive producer for Silverprint Pictures, Kate Bartlett said: 'Lucy Boynton is absolutely mesmerising as Ruth Ellis, pictured here, at the height of her success as London's youngest club manager.

'Aged 28, her ascendancy was brought to a sharp halt when she became enmeshed in an intoxicating love triangle which brought death and tragedy.'

Bohemian Rhapsody star Lucy said: 'Ruth Ellis's story is a fascinating one. Both she and this complex case have always evoked a strong reaction.

'With Kelly's insightful scripts I'm looking forward to bringing a new perspective to both familiar audiences as well as those who are unaware of her mark on British history.'

Ellis was hanged by famous hangman, Albert Pierrepoint, in Holloway Prison.

The four-part series is described as 'a compelling legal and emotional rollercoaster' and is based on Carol Ann Lee's acclaimed biography A Fine Day for Hanging: The Real Ruth Ellis Story.

The series will tell the tale of Ellis's life as a manageress, her abusive relationship, and her subsequent arrest, trial and the legal fight to reprieve her.

In October, brandishing a .38 calibre Smith & Wesson revolver, Lucy recreated one of the most iconic crime scenes in British history when she stars as the last woman to be sent to the gallows.

Producers of the drama decided to return to the exact spot where Ellis killed her boyfriend on April 10, 1955, to film the scene.

These photographs of Lucy and Laurie were taken outside the Magdala pub in North London – where Ellis fired five shots at Blakely, with one bullet ricocheting off the pavement and injuring a passer-by.

With her bleached hair and pillar-box red lipstick, the actress is seen striding towards Blakeley before firing the gun at close range.
