Charley Higginbotham threw a shutout, while Giacomo Franco and Matt Sabale had two hits for the Grizzlies. It was a 0-0 game until the top of the seventh in Suffolk.

#2 Cape Henry 13, Norfolk Collegiate 3

Tanner Schaedel was 4 for 5 with a home run and seven RBIs in the Dolphins’ Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools quarterfinal victory.

#3 Cox 9, Salem 1

Louis Schultz, Brendan White and Michael Barreiro all had multi-hit games for the Falcons.

#5 Western Branch 2, Oscar Smith 1

Seth Sadler and Logan Adams drove in runs to lead the Bruins in a game that featured just four total hits. Miles Melescu allowed two hits and an earned run over five innings, and Gavin Biernot pitched two hitless innings of relief.

#6 First Colonial 13, Bayside 1  

Wes Stubbe had four hits, including two doubles, and scored three runs, while Cade Howlett (4-0) earned the win and struck out six over four innings.

#7 Great Bridge 11, Deep Creek 1

Dawson Newman struck out seven and permitted two hits over six innings. Calvin Mabry and Casey Cuddyer combined for five RBIs, and Drew Griffin had two hits.

#8 Greenbrier Christian 16, Isle of Wight Academy 2

Jackson Okonkwo threw a complete game and struck out 10, Payton Shipman hit a three-run home run and Jonathan Ashe, Tucker Rupe and Jack Bonney each had two hits.

#9 Gloucester 23, Heritage 2  

Brayden Scott, Trevor Richardson and Tyler Boulay had multiple hits for the Dukes.

#12 Menchville 3, Phoebus 0

Luke Woodard (6-1) recorded 12 strikeouts in a complete game. Landon Turner went 2 for 3 with a double, scoring two runs and driving in a run, while Nolan Stuffel finished with two hits.

Ocean Lakes 10, #15 Kellam 0 

Jack Marchesi hit a three-run homer and Tre Hamilton had two hits for the Dolphins (12-5). Sean Burke (7-1) pitched a three-hit shutout for Ocean Lakes.

Bay Rivers District

York 3, Tabb 1

Casey Cheaney was 3 for 4 and had an RBI for the Falcons (11-6). Winner Will Hunt pitched a six-hitter. For the Tigers (10-6), Jake Mutter was 2 for 4 with a steal.

Princess Anne 10, Green Run 0 

The Cavaliers’ Luke Sweeney struck out 11 of the 16 batters he faced.

Eastern District

Manor 14, Norcom 2

Nolyn Smith led the Mustangs to victory on the mound, allowing no runs on four hits and striking out seven. Henry Newburn and Cody Miller each drove in three runs.

Peninsula District

Kecoughtan 8, Woodside 3

Tommy Distler struck out nine in the win for the Warriors. Brayden Ellis doubled, and Kason Boone had an RBI.

Southeastern District

Hickory 16, Nansemond River 1 

Jake Chadwell was 4 for 4 with three doubles for the Hawks.

Indian River 11, King’s Fork 6

Jaydon Crawford went 3 for 4 with a double and five RBIs, while Paul Green added two hits and scored twice.

Atlantic Shores 7, Christchurch 1

Patrick Dudley, Brett Beasley, Hudson Howell and Addison Way combined for a no-hitter and 13 strikeouts. Malcolm Forbes scored two runs, drove in two, walked twice and was 1 for 1.

Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools quarterfinals

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 3, Steward 0

Matt Elswick pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits, and Joseph Petry had three hits for the Saints. NSA plays a semifinal against Norfolk Academy at 4 p.m. Wednesday at War Memorial Stadium in Hampton.

Norfolk Academy 6, Hampton Roads Academy 2

CJ Murray (5-2) hit a three-run home run to cap a six-run sixth inning and also picked up the win on the mound for the Bulldogs.

Braelyn Bailey went 3 for 4 with five RBIs and Taylor Binder added a hit and drove in two runs. Chase Hartford (8-0) struck out three in gaining the victory.

#2 Hickory 14, Nansemond River 1

Tegan Gabrielse struck out five in two innings and was 3 for 3 at the plate, while Taylor Ryan added four RBIs and Sophia Avin hit her fifth home run in the Hawks’ 17th victory of the season. Demetria Burton hit a homer for the Warriors.

#3 Kellam 8, #9 Ocean Lakes 2

Hannah Lebert went 4 for 4 with two stolen bases, and Grace Andes had three hits and an RBI. Carson Griffith added two hits and three RBIs and Abby Adamek pitched for the Knights, fanning 10 and allowing three hits.

#6 Granby 23, Churchland 4

Taylor Langston was a home run shy of the cycle on her birthday, while winning pitcher Kyrsten Wells (8-0) and Alexis Hejnal also collected three hits each.

#8 Gloucester 20, Heritage 3

Autumn Cookson went 3 for 5 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Dukes (16-0), while Cameron Palas was 4 for 5 with a double and four RBIs. Kaia Hutton finished with two hits and four RBIs.

Great Bridge 2, #10 Deep Creek 1

Cassie Kleier hit a bases-loaded double in the sixth inning to drive in two runs to lift the Wildcats. Kleier and Bayly Yerigan finished with two hits apiece.

#12 First Colonial 11, Bayside 0

Kate Beck threw a no-hitter and fanned 10 to record her 300th career strikeout. The Patriots finished with 16 hits.

#13 Kecoughtan 19, Woodside 0

Skyler Ackerman recorded 10 strikeouts and allowed only one hit, Lynlea Boone went 3 for 3 with a double, four RBIs and two runs, and Charleigh Lupton contributed two hits and two RBIs.

#14 Kempsville 8, Tallwood 0

Madison Talley pitched a no-hitter for the Chiefs while adding two hits.

York 1, #15 Tabb 0

Sarah Witt pitched a no-hitter and struck out seven for the visiting Falcons. Mika Hilburger took a tough-luck loss. Olivia Brock, Bri Petrolia, Kenlee Washington and Leslee Maldonado all went 1 for 3.

Princess Anne 18, Green Run 4

Brooklynn Bambrick collected three hits and came on in relief in the circle. Samantha Barbe earned the win for Princess Anne, while Green Run’s Chyann Soule hit her first career home run.

Salem 7, Cox 4

Sam Brown went 3 for 4, including a double, two RBIs and three runs, and Grace Snead added two hits and three RBIs.

Eastern District

Norview 13, Lake Taylor 3

Yoeliz Torres went 4 for 4 with five RBIs, winning pitcher Valarie Miranda had three hits and three RBIs, and Tianna Stitts went 1 for 2 with two RBIs.

Peninsula District

Menchville 4, Phoebus 1

Taylor Twitchell (10-5) tossed a three-hitter, and Brielle Creque had two hits for the Monarchs (12-5).

Catholic 20, Peninsula Catholic 4

Ava Morgan went 3 for 4, driving in five runs, while Julia Brandwein contributed with a 2-for-3 performance and three RBIs.

Isle of Wight Academy 9, Central Virginia HomeSchool 1

Nora Pye struck out 13 and Kaitlyn Springle had two hits for the host Chargers, who led 7-0 after two innings.

Metro Conference quarterfinals

Hampton Christian 17, StoneBridge 2

The third-seeded Warriors cruised past the sixth-seeded Cavaliers. That advanced Hampton Christian to a semifinal at 7 p.m. Wednesday against second-seeded Broadwater Academy on Greenbrier Christian’s field.

Atlantic Shores 11, Portsmouth Christian 1

The fourth-seeded Seahawks ousted the fifth-seeded Patriots. Atlantic Shores will play top-seeded Greenbrier Christian in a semifinal on the Gators’ field at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Patriots and Falcons played to a draw in a clash of Beach District powers.

#3 Landstown 5, #10 Kellam 0

Ryan Walsh and Jace McSwain each led the Eagles with two goals. Walsh had three assists and Nathan Lagbo added one. Shaban Kilci scored the other goal.

#5 Menchville 5, Phoebus 0

Christian Robertson finished with a hat trick. Aldion Bytyqi and Tristan Klompenhouwer also scored.

#14 Princess Anne 9, Tallwood 0

The Cavaliers dominated the Lions.

#15 Ocean Lakes 6, Bayside 0

Shaun VanDeusen and Noah Ridgway both scored twice. Dylan Tamayo and Owen Wilbricht added goals. Nick Ward had two assists, and Jesse Gutierrez and Canin Robins had one apiece.

Salem 2, Green Run 0

Corey Ruffin and Joshua Omanyani scored for the SunDevils (6-6).

Southeastern District

Grassfield 8, Lakeland 0

Julian Pisoni’s two goals paced the Grizzlies. Aidan Griffiths, Tyler Wynne, Cesar Toledo-Esquina, Yanel Haseh, Jeremy Renner and Colin Shine also scored. Shine had two assists, and Wynne and Kole Ward had one apiece.

Oscar Smith 3, Western Branch 3

Ethan Bolden, Seth Akers and David Scheiner scored for the Bruins, whose only deficit was 3-2. Julian Villalobos-Flores, Elmehdi Ben Hssain and Alex Dyzla scored for the Tigers. Dyzla, Bruce Thornton and Gabriel Fore had assists for Oscar Smith.

Alyssa Chuderewicz, Taylor Garofalo, Lauren Croley, Avery Spell, Reagan Thompson and Caroline Henseler scored as the Knights (12-0-1) stayed unbeaten.

#2 First Colonial 8, Cox 0

Kylie White led the Patriots with three goals. Ava Bourne added two goals, while Skylar Miller, Sydney Miller and Maddie Kainer also scored. Sydney Miller had four assists and Skylar Miller two, while Bourne and Kira Bonfiglio had one apiece.

#3 Lafayette 6, #13 Tabb 0

Lexi King scored three goals and Shea Mansisidor scored two. Aaliyah White added one.

#4 Western Branch  8, Oscar Smith 0

Madelynn Harmon had three goals, Jayda Sutton and Sasha Daniel each had two goals, and Ryan Smith chipped in one. Amelia Cross posted the shutout for the Bruins.

#6 Hickory 1, Nansemond River 0

Kaila Long scored for the Hawks, and goalkeeper Abbie Hettinger posted a clean sheet.

Caylyn Candia scored three goals and provided an assist. Kamryn Eccleston added two assists, and Taniyah Waters had a goal.

#12 Grassfield 10, Lakeland 0

Katie Dowd led the Grizzlies with three goals. Hanna Smith added two, and Jillian Kemp, Ally Quiroz, Bella Franco, Ciera Frick and Lexi Ivey also scored. Franco and Ivey had two assists each, Sydney Stull had three and Aynara Salva had one. Goalkeeper Sara Koch produced a shutout.

Roxanna Shiffler had four goals, Claire Holmes and Anna Griesmer each had two goals and an assist, Emily Hager and Mai Ly had two goals each, Raelynn Perez and Abby Sabatino each had a goal and three assists, and Anna Hager had two assists.

Anna Orchard-Hays and Madison Moore scored goals.

The SunDevils shut out the Stallions as Kaycee Colton, Alayna Bada, Adriane Bethune, Aniya Murray, Arianna Fong, Elayna Garcia, Wynn Cordero and Bella Fong scored.

Belma Tihic scored seven times, giving her 49 goals on the season.

Jack Kozak stormed back from a 1-5 deficit to win a tiebreaker at No. 6 singles for the Comets, who finished the regular season 13-2.

The Pilots shut out the Titans.

Southeastern District

Deep Creek 7, Great Bridge 2

The Hornets outplayed the Wildcats (8-4, 5-3) in a clash of two of the district’s top teams. No. 1 JP Zano (6-0, 6-2) and No. 3 Greyson Roy (2-6, 6-4, 1-0 [10-6]) were Great Bridge’s victors.

Western Branch 8, Oscar Smith 1

The Bruins breezed past the Tigers.

Non-district

Cox 8, Cape Henry 1

The Falcons, hoping to repeat as Class 5 Region A champs, defeated the Dolphins in a public-private-school matchup. Neil Vanga (6-0, 6-1), Sam Dixon (6-2, 7-5), Lucca Gandolfo (6-3, 6-1), Matt Baan (6-4, 6-3) and Daniel Ureeta (6-0, 6-0) won in singles for the Falcons. They and Joseph Park all won doubles pro-sets.

Syri Strong came from behind to win at No. 3 singles.

Deja Thomas, Caley Griffith, Livia Norris, Soley Bitterman, Ava Emerson and Molly Zardeskas won in singles and doubles.

King’s Fork 7, Indian River 2

The Bulldogs defeated the Braves. Nakari Blunt, Leah Stewart, Olivia Hodouto, Aaliyah Geter and Jaliyah Williams won in singles for the Bulldogs.

Western Branch 8, Oscar Smith 1

The Bruins cruised, winning on every line except No. 2 doubles.

Kylan Carini scored seven goals and provided two assists, and Addison Kiser had six goals and an assist. Kiser surpassed 100 career points. Hailey Hapenny added a goal, and Safia Rahman had three assists. Winning goalie Chaeli Rzepnicki made five saves. For Cox, Dani Killian scored seven goals and Rhyan Edmunds one.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy 17, Norfolk Collegiate 9

Sarah Carson finished with five goals and eight assists, while Izzy Rose scored four times and dished out an assist in a Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools quarterfinal. Paige Dowd had three goals, Haley Price two, and Taylor Bradshaw, GiGi Bolling and Ella Defeo added one apiece. For the Oaks, Cate Wells netted five goals, Annie Trapani three and Robin Roelink one.

Catholic 18, Steward 6

Olivia Odom scored six goals and Maria Eckhart had five for the Crusaders. Holly Pierce had three goals and three assists, Leni Jolly had two goals, and Chloe Kiser and Anaiya Fortunat had a goal apiece.

Metro Conference Tournament

Greenbrier Christian Academy won the title with a 315 as individual champion Macie Rasmussen set a women’s course record of 9-under-par 63. Atlantic Shores placed second at 345. StoneBridge (365), Gateway Christian (390), Broadwater Academy (444) and Denbigh Baptist (466) completed the field.

Greenbrier’s Andy Weissinger was named the Coach of the Year.

Joining Rasmussen on the all-conference team were: Gateway’s Keegan Snyder (74), Denbigh Baptist’s Nicholas Gibson (76), StoneBridge’s Kade Walton (78), Greenbrier’s Connor Bowden (80), Atlantic Shores’ Paxton Noon (80), Atlantic Shores’ Nathan Daniels (82), Greenbrier’s Dunni Scozzofava (83), StoneBridge’s Garrett Mabe (87) and Atlantic Shores’ Jordyn Kyle (89).
