The administrative staff is very helpful, and they all seem to enjoy their jobs. There are many student advocacy programs and services. The instructors I have had experience with are all amazing, and they are genuinely concerned with the success of their students. There are a lot of technology resources available through Del Mar College to help aid students in any subject, and tutoring is available in person during business hours, or 24/7 through the Canvas learning platform. The Music and Sound Recording Technology program at Del Mar College is arguably one of the best of it's kind in the nation, even when this Associates of Applied Science degree is compared to similar programs offered by Universities. I would recommend Del Mar College to anybody who is seeking quality education, job readiness, or even just seeking to expand their horizons and learn about something new. Del Mar College is amazing!
NURSING DEPARTMENT will NOT work with students. There are so many things going on in this program, that I don't even know where to start. The instructors belittle students in front of others ( I've seen this happen in a clinical setting), there is favoritism, one class will get points back on exams, there is no communication from instructors, and last-minute changes so if you are a working student or have children, they don't care, no peer tutoring available, don't let that advertisement fool you, and their lab classes are a joke most of the time students just sit around with nothing to do. It's a waste of time and money. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a good nursing degree.
Del Mar college has been a great experience. The teachers care about their students, and take time to make sure you understand. Most of my professors seem to actually enjoy teaching. Which drastically adds to the enjoyment of the class.
