School History

DeMatha Catholic High School first opened its doors on September 9, 1946 with an enrollment of 18 students. DeMatha was founded by the Order of the Most Holy Trinity.

St. John de Matha & the Trinitarians

DeMatha is named after St. John de Matha who was ordained a priest in 1192. He founded the order of the Most Holy Trinity – the Trinitarians.

The DeMatha Stag & Alma Mater

The DeMatha has a rich history and traditions. The DeMatha Stag is a part of the legacy of St. John DeMatha and the school's Alma Mater is sung at all important school and alumni events.
