Career Summary

DeAndre Yedlin joined Inter Miami CF in 2022 on a four-year contract as an already decorated player. The Seattle, Washington native brought a wealth of experience to the young Inter Miami CF squad; before joining the Club Yedlin featured in 190 matches in top European competitions, including the English Premier League, the EFL Championship, the Turkish Süper Lig and the Europa League, as well as previously enjoying extensive playing time in North America, having played for in the MLS, Concacaf Champions League and U.S. Open Cup over his two first seasons in MLS. 

Yedlin primarily plays as a right back, but ever versatile, is capable of playing wingback and wide midfielder as well; he featured in several of these positions for Galatasaray SK in Turkey, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspurs, and Sunderland AFC in England. Before his successful stint in Europe, Yedlin played for the Seattle Sounders as their first ever Homegrown player. Yedlin won the Supporters’ Shield and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with the Sounders in 2014, featuring for the club 69 times across all competitions. Yedlin’s standout performances have earned him three MLS All-Star selections thus far in his career; twice with the Sounders, and once with Inter Miami CF in his first season with the club. Yedlin has earned many accolades during his International career as well, including the U.S. Soccer Young Athlete of the Year award in 2014, the 2019-2020 Concacaf Nations league, and has represented the U.S. in its most recent two FIFA World Cup campaigns (2014 and 2022). 

Around the Club, Yedlin is known as a leader both on and off the pitch. The Seattle native is the mastermind behind the First Team’s adoption of wearing fashionable outfits on arrival for matchday, sparking a surge of creativity and camaraderie among the players as they all express themselves through their fashion sense. Yedlin’s iconic fashion-forward looks have seen him featured in GQ. Yedlin also serves as mentor for many of the younger players, guiding the likes of Drake Callender and Aime Mabika through meditation exercises on training days and game days.
