Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is a 2014 American science fiction action film directed by Matt Reeves 🦍 It's good 🙂 I'd recommend it if you like this genre 👍🏼 A group of scientists in San Francisco struggle to stay alive in the aftermath of a plague that is wiping out humanity, while Caesar tries to maintain dominance over his community of intelligent apes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/15/24 Full Review Ash P I even gotta say, this is a better sequel than how Rise was, especially when it's set ten years prior after the first movie. Most of the human actors are much better in performance and more fine-tuned as the story goes along with them getting along with some of the apes, especially with Ceaser through their chemistry. I'll admit, the human villain, as being thrown in near the end was a little underwhelming while the ape villain was growing on me when the story drives itself. The visuals, the acting, the action, even the GC motion captured apes, especially Andy Serkis' performance, is so much better than how the last film has done. Some silly moments I find out of place, but those are pretty minor as the movie goes. Will even say, this is my number one of the Planet of the Apes Rebooted trilogy. 9/10. This movie has some amazing storytelling and character development, although they did great at creating the movie they wanted, don't watch it and expect to like it, because I still do think not everyone would like this movie. I really do personally think "Rise of the planet of the apes" is better, I recommend watching it before watching this. This is one of my favourite movies of all time, I really do recommend it. As Caesar raises his family in a protected environment, their tranquility is threatened when the existence of a human colony causes an internal conflict inside the ape colony which leads to devastating consequences. An emotional sequel that trumps the original in scale and power, this only marks the beginning of the ongoing war!
