DAVID COPPERFIELD DESCRIPTION

It’s David freakin’ Copperfield. Need we say more? We really don’t but since we love talking about this world-famous magician who just so happens to be our neighbor, we’ll go on and brag about him and his show anyway. The perfect combo of nostalgia, magic and showmanship, master illusionist David Copperfield continues to wow us time and again. Trust us, we’ve been about 17 times and still can’t figure out how he teleports. Seriously, how does he do that?!

Anyway, moving on. This show is just mystifying enough to make you believe in the supernatural, while also making you feel like a crazy person for considering whether or not someone could actually separate their torso from their legs and live to tell the tale. We just aren’t sure how he pulls off his magic but we are more than O.K. with it.

In fact, we hope the mystery continues to endure the test of time so that we can keep attending the show and increasing our chances of being picked for the audience participation. Let’s be real here. We are talking about the man who made Statue of Liberty disappear and who walked through the Great Wall of China. Clearly, anything is possible. Don’t believe us? See Copperfield perform for yourself and let us know just how many of his illusions and tricks you manage to figure out. And if you get pulled onstage, we’ll be insanely jealous.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT waste your money on this show! We were really hoping to see a fabulous show by David Copperfield as we grew up watching his magic. The show was an ode to his Father and was very sweet with some cool special effects but where was the illusion, where was the magic!? The show is far overpriced, and he is off his game. He was monotone the entirety of the show, and made inappropriate jokes that did not mesh well with the storyline of his show. It felt very disconnected and was a big let down. I would not recommend this show.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Very few actual magic tricks, clearly the audience participants were plants, and the whole weird thing about conjuring up an alien that looked like Yoda and going back in time to meet a supposedly past father who actually looked like a modern model in modern day film just was confusing and strange. He also kept checking his notes while he was talking to the alien as if he didn’t know his lines. I am sorry to say he is past his prime and seems to have lost something magical.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t let the name brand fool you David Copperfield is a well known figure in the magic show scene, but don’t let that popularity fool you. The show felt rushed, and Copperfield was just going through the motions until the performance was finished. His “wow” tricks were all essentially the same—big object appearing out of nowhere. Which, cool, after the first two times, but after a while it was a little stagnant. Then there was a whole alien bit that felt really out of place. Very bummed about the show, as I have seen many great magic shows at Vegas. But as it goes in sin city, can’t win them all.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from David Copperfield doing what he does. Magic and illusions were good, and as expected from him. He was hard to hear compared to backing tracks and other audio. Seems like he is not wearing a mic, maybe parabolic or focused mics on him during show. His quick speaking, lack of enunciation, and the low volume made it hard to keep up. Thankfully we were close enough we could occasionally hear him directly over the speaker audio, but those farther back probably struggled, especially the 50% or so of the audience that seemed to have English as a 2nd language. There during CES and it was a very international seating. Overall worth seeing, but sound quality seems like item number two on the checkbox after magic, and not really any excuse for such poor audio.

This guy is washed up and sold out to the routine of his residency in a mediocre Casino. I actually fell asleep that's how boring his performance was. Time for that old dog to retire.
