Emma Stone isn’t just an Oscar-winning actress — she's also recently taken on the role of mom.

The Poor Things star has one child, a daughter named Louise Jean McCary, with her husband Dave McCary

Stone and McCary first met while filming an episode of Saturday Night Live in December 2016 and quickly hit it off. A source confirmed to PEOPLE in October 2017 that Stone and McCary were officially an item and they eventually made their award show debut at the 2019 SAG Awards.

In December 2019, they confirmed their engagement as McCary shared a photo on Instagram of himself and Stone smiling as she held out her engagement ring toward the camera and they later tied the knot in September 2020.

Though Stone and McCary have not shared much about their private lives in the years since that engagement post, we have learned a few sweet details about their little one since her arrival.

Here’s everything to know about Stone’s daughter.

PEOPLE confirmed Emma Stone was expecting in January 2021

In January 2021, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Stone was expecting her first child. The news came after the actress was seen walking with a friend in Los Angeles on Dec. 30 while cradling her baby bump, in photos obtained by the Daily Mail.

She’s a Pisces

Months after PEOPLE confirmed Stone’s pregnancy, PEOPLE confirmed that the actress gave birth to a baby girl in March 2021. According to the baby’s birth certificate obtained by TMZ, Stone’s daughter was born on March 13, making her a Pisces.

She was reportedly named after Emma Stone’s grandmother

Louise Jean McCary’s name seemingly has a special family significance. According to Vanity Fair, Stone’s baby girl was named after the actress’ grandmother, Jean Louise. The outlet also reported that Stone and her mother, Krista Stone (pictured above), shared the middle name Jean, adding even more meaning to her daughter’s first name.

Emma Stone called motherhood “very exciting”

While promoting her leading role in Cruella in May 2021, Stone gave a rare comment about motherhood. During an interview with British presenter Mark Heyes, Stone was asked about her experience dealing with COVID-19 lockdowns while becoming a first-time mom.

“It's very, very exciting,” she said. “I feel lucky with what lockdown has been but it has been an insane year.”

In addition to keeping her relationship with McCary out of the spotlight, Stone has been pretty private about her daughter. Following her daughter’s birth, a source gave PEOPLE rare insight into her new role as a mom

"Emma and Dave have a great marriage and both wanted a child," a source close to Stone told PEOPLE. "They are a very grounded and private couple and were ready for a family."

"Emma is close to her family and good friends but not the type to flaunt her personal life," added the Stone source. "Dave respects that about her and is the same way. They have a great life together and support each other."

"Emma has been very excited about the baby," an insider said of Stone ahead of her baby’s arrival. "She has been private but said that she was feeling great. She always has a huge smile when she is with Dave."

Emma Stone dedicated her Oscars win to her daughter

While accepting her second Oscar for Best Actress for her role in Poor Things, Stone paid tribute to her family, including her daughter Louise.

"I really just want to thank my family. My mom, my brother Spencer, my dad, my husband Dave [McCary], I love you so much," she began."

"And, most importantly, my daughter, who's gonna be 3 in three days and has turned our lives technicolor," the star continued, before quoting pal Taylor Swift's lyric: "I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl." (Swift's song "Bigger Than the Whole Sky" is from her Grammy-winning album Midnights.)
