      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

An uneasy blend of action and comedy, Date Night doesn't quite live up to the talents of its two leads, but Steve Carell and Tina Fey still manage to shine through most of the movie's flaws.

Lara K Tina and Steve never disappoint. The movie is highly watchable and enjoyable. Get ready for a good laugh. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review alan g Whoever thought either of these "actors" could act? Unfunny, cotrived and forced. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/22/24 Full Review Lesterberne T It took me this long to watch this movie and only because of the reviews. The movie is actually really good for what it is. The dialogue between the 2 leads are believable, funny and down to earth, even 13 years later. The overall dialogue of the show gets a little more goofy towards the second half / last third of the movie. Would still recommend this to anyone who likes the premise and would've been worried that it would be cheesy. You might to turn your brain off a bit for the second half however. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/14/23 Full Review Kristin J There's just something about Steve Carrell that I really don't like. I've never enjoyed him in anything, and I normally find him extremely annoying. But here, he wasn't bad. Typical adventure romcom with all the tropes you'd expect. A pleasant enough watch, but not worth paying a lot for. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 12/05/23 Full Review Brianna B 2 amazingly good comedic actors, how could it go wrong? Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/23 Full Review Joanna T Funny movie to watch. About a boring married couple with children who barely have sex anymore and who are too comfortable with each other. They go out to NYC for a dinner date night to try to change things up. However, they pretended to be someone else for a reservation at a popular restaurant, and the people who they pretended to be were in trouble. Thugs/gangsters approached them and they get thrown into a mess. They clear it up by finding the actual people that the gangsters were looking for. They end up with a rekindled love Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express The real stars of the film are [Steve] Carell and [Tina] Fey for bringing such goofy conviction to this goofball comedy, much better than the director's previous attempts at broad humour in the two Night at the Museum films.
