Adding a bit of pink to her brood of boys was a no-brainer for Cate Blanchett.

The Cinderella star and her husband Andrew Upton — already parents to son Ignatius Martin, 7 next month, Roman Robert, 10, and Dashiell John, 13 — were more than happy to add a fourth child to the mix with the recent adoption of their daughter, Edith Vivian Patricia.

“There’s a lot of children out there who don’t have the good fortune that our biological children do, so it’s wonderful,” Blanchett, 45, told Sky News at the Sydney premiere of her film on Sunday.

The arrival of their baby girl brought the family total to six, but it’s the more the merrier for the Blanchett-Upton bunch.

“It’s wonderful to welcome a little girl into our fold,” Blanchett says. “We’re besotted.”

She adds, “Fourth time around, it’s extraordinary.”
