Even though he’s been stuck in quarantine like the rest of us, Schitt’s Creek star and co-creator Dan Levy has been having quite a memorable year. His beloved sitcom swept every major comedy category at the Emmys back in September and is primed to do the same thing all over again when the 2021 Golden Globes take place Sunday, Feb. 28.

Amid so much professional success, it’s only natural for fans to wonder what’s up with Levy’s personal life. After all, the 37-year-old is—as his character, David Rose, would say—"wildly popular” these days. Plus, he was named one of PEOPLE'sSexiest Men Alivein 2020—although he joked to the outlet last year, “This form of sexy is a niche market.”

As far as coupling up goes, though, Levy is seemingly currently single and clearly prefers to keep his dating life private. Let’s run down what we know about his relationship history.

Is Dan Levy married?

Nope! Although his Schitt’s Creek character enjoyed one of the most epic same-sex weddings of all time in the series finale, Levy himself has never been married.

Dan Levy might be ready for a boyfriend

Way back in 2015, when Schitt’s Creek premiered, Levy told Out Magazine that his career was taking priority for the sake of the show, but that he’d be open to a relationship sometime in the future. “I’m single right now…I hope that I can find someone when it's all done or when things are a little bit more smooth,” he said. “When the time comes and all the stars are aligned, someone else will come in, and hopefully, we'll call it a day in the love life department." More recently, he told Bustle in December 2020, “I would like to date more.”

Don't try to dig up Dan Levy's exes

Levy’s done a great job of keeping his private life private; Google all you want, but you won’t really find any evidence online about Levy’s past loves. He did tell Bustle that when he started dating in college, he “was not in any place to be of great value in a relationship,” and that since then, many of his romances involved “dating people who are totally wrong for you because they're seeking out people who are a bit damaged.”

Is Dan Levy single?

True to what he told Out in 2015, Levy has seemingly remained single throughout Schitt’s Creek’s run. However, he revealed to Vanity Fair this month that before the pandemic, he would “go on a lot of dates” in London, where he once lived and which he also cited as his favorite city.

In the meantime, Levy’s been content with his commitment to his adorable rescue dog, Redmond. “Finding him was the greatest thing that ever happened to me,” Levy wrote on social media back in 2019.

And just this month, in a Vanity Fair questionnaire video, Levy answered the question “What or who is the greatest love of your life?” by saying, “I don’t think I’ve met him yet so I’m going to say my dog, Redmond.”

When did Dan Levy come out as gay?

Levy has said that when he was 18, his mom helped him come out and accept his gay identity.

By the way, if you’re curious to play matchmaker for Levy, he also told Vanity Fair that his favorite quality in a man is “humility.”
