Daichi Kamada on target as Eintracht Frankfurt's awesome Eagles soar past RB Leipzig

Eintracht Frankfurt's season is well and truly up and running following a sure-fire win against RB Leipzig, Daichi Kamada, Sebastian Rode, Tuta and Rafael Borre hitting the target for the hosts, who profited from one more fine Randal Kolo Muani outing.

Eintracht Frankfurt 4-0 RB Leipzig
Goals: 1-0
Kamada 16' (assist: Kolo Muani), 2-0 Rode 22' (assist: Kolo Muani), 3-0 Tuta 67', 4-0 Borre (pen. 84')

Both teams went into this Matchday 5 encounter having picked up their first top-flight wins last weekend. For Frankfurt, victory at Werder Bremen was their first triumph after 11 Bundesliga games without a win. The pleasant sensation of earning those three points had the hosts hungering for more at Deutsche Bank Park, where Oliver Glasner's men soon set about their opponents. Kamada rolled the ball into the net soon enough, although that effort - set up by the majestic Kolo Muani - was ruled out for offside. Leipzig's hopes of ending a four-game winless streak away from home then suffered a setback with the loss of Dani Olmo to a knee injury. From then on, the visitors succumbed as the Eagles took flight. Mario Götze's golf-chip-style pass to the back stick was met by Kolo Muani's head across the face of goal. Kamada lunged to meet the pass and headed in his third goal in four games. Soon enough, it was 2-0, Kolo Muani again the architect with a pass to Rode whose effort struck Willi Orban before going in.

The downside to a fine first half for Die Adler was losing their second goalscorer to injury. Captain Rode's absence was felt briefly after the restart when Domenico Tedesco's men sought a way back into the contest. Last season's Bundesliga Player of the Year, Christopher Nkunku, pummelled a shot over the top while, not long afterwards, the France international freed Timo Werner whose menacing ball into the centre was parried to safety by Kevin Trapp. The visitors' revival ended there and Eintracht's record of never having lost at home against Leipzig was a nailed-on certainty to continue when Tuta tapped home after Peter Gulacsi could only get a hand on Götze's stinging shot. Substitute Borre's converted penalty after Ansgar Knauff was felled in the area was the icing on the cake for an Eintracht side who will be in high spirits ahead of their UEFA Champions League. Leipzig's own return to European competition, meanwhile, will feel a little more painful after this.
