What travellers are saying
- Phoebe10 contributionsValence house is a very charming and beautifully curated local museum. It has extremely interesting exhibitions and artefacts, and the house itself is fascinating- I especially loved the recently discovered 16th century wall painting! The staff are also incredibly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A really lovely day out!Written 14 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Cheekycockney190757Basildon, UK8,562 contributionsI visited Thursday 20th July 2023. I missed the initial car park and almost ended up in a traveller community compound so be careful and park in the first car park you see. This will be for Eastbrookend Country Park and comes with a Visitor Centre inc cafe and toilets but check with the cafe opening times which appeared limited. There are multiple walking routes to follow, and these include multiple pools where fishing spots are located and sculptures. As you get deeper into the Country Park you come across a barrier which once traversed takes you into The Chase Nature Reserve. This area is less landscaped and populated with wild (but friendly) horses which I presume are owned by the Travellers referred to earlier.Written 17 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LIMPITColchester, UK1,679 contributionsVisited with group of friends recently, well organised event.
The Pre-Match meal was only ok, very limited choice and the Beef on the buffet, looked fantastic but was so tough hardly edible.
The box gave great view of the game, and we enjoyed excellent drinks service.
The bar after the game was good with live footy on tv.Written 3 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were married in St.Peters RC Church Goresbrook Road, Dagenham by Fathet Loftos, lovely priest. It’s nice to reminisce but best not to look back simply keep going forward as life permits.Written 4 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Russ CDagenham, UK6 contributionsThis is a fairly safe park and the people are friendly (I've made quite a few acquaintances here). There are 2 ponds with ducks, swans and other wildlife and play areas for smaller children. In the summer lots of parents bring their children to play here. I take my dog there, sometimes, for a walk and play with other dogs. Most of the dog owners there are friendly people, even in the height of winter brrr lol. There is ample free parking.Written 9 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Tammy W1 contributionThis was my first visit here and was bringing my partner to hes first ever bingo night, As it was something he had not ever gone to and played before. He is dieing of cancer. He took a fall outside and smashed hes face on the path. One staff member helped clean hes cut to hes eyebrow and covered it. We was refunded our money so i could take him him to be checked over. Think the staff were all nice and helpful. Will try again soon when my partner is feeling a bit better. Greatful for all there help in these hard times.Written 4 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Casual_Traveller13London, UK3 contributionsBuilt in 1935 by the celebrated architect Nugent Francis Cachemaille-Day it is a hidden gem. There is a tea bar open Wednesday and Thursday 1.30 - 4.00 with snacks & drinks. Extremely good value. Always welcoming.Written 13 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Paul WDagenham, UK12 contributionsGoresbrook Park is where I take my dog for a walk the grass is kept well cut and the paths are wide and very popular with joggers and cyclists. My criticisms are rubbish being left lying about by inconsiderate users. Dogs not being kept on leads. And homeless people leaving their possessions among the bushes which are then strewn all over the place when found by hooligans. This area is or was part of the green belt and used to start from near the Chequers up to Thatched House rounderbout. So it's ok to take your dog there but keep it on a lead.Written 11 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Glo JRayleigh, UK42 contributionsI am only giving this a single star as there is no option for 0 . Visited Footgolf Moby Dick with 4 children . The staff happily gave us all the equipment and score cards and off the children went. Only to be back very quickly as half the holes were completely waterlogged so clearly the drainage is non existent. The kids could not use the holes and I emailed the company as I was unhappy that nothing was mentioned in relation to this. At least telling us the pitch areas were waterlogged and therefore many out of use which would have given us the option of whether we still went on or not. Absolute waste of time. They are happy to charge children over £50 for an experience they clearly cannot offer .
