After legendary DJ Spinderella filed a lawsuit against her equally iconic former bandmates Salt-N-Pepa and the duo fired back with harsh rhetoric at the turntable titan, a federal judge in Dallas ordered the trio to the mediation table.

As rolling out reported, Diedra “Spinderella” Roper, 48, filed a lawsuit against Cheryl “Salt” James, 53, and Sandra “Pepa” Denton, 52, charging the two with a host of illegal and unethical practices including unpaid royalties, trademark infringement, fraud and breach of contract.

Salt-N-Pepa clapped back at Spinderella, calling her lawsuit baseless, inaccurate and an overall “smear campaign” designed to damage their brand. Now the judge has told the New York-born rap giants to sit down and work the money issue out, Billboard magazine reports.

The primary issue is the alleged agreement to split the royalties from their 1999 Best of album that Spin says she never received. She also said has been excluded from over $600,000 of money due that the group accrued over the past decade.

However, when Spin asked for immediate relief, a U.S. District Court judge rejected her plea, according to Billboard, which delighted Salt-N-Pepa.

“We are grateful for the judge’s ruling as Salt-N-Pepa have been extremely generous to Spin over many decades and attempted to settle what amounts to a divorce, both peacefully and without rancor,” a statement on behalf of the duo reads, according to Billboard. “Unfortunately, Spin and her legal team adopted a scorched earth approach that brought unnecessary attention to a business dispute that all along could have, and should have, been settled amicably and privately.”
