Kurt Angle discussed his previous Royal Rumble matches on the most recent edition of his podcast, “The Kurt Angle Show,” and he shared a technique that professional wrestlers never prepare in advance of a contest.”

“Like we don’t practice getting eliminated over the top rope,” said Angle. “We do that at the beginning of our careers when we learn how to go over the rope … put your hand on the ring apron, get your feet cleared over the rope, and land on the floor. You do that a few times, but after a while, you just have to do it. You don’t practice it, you just say, ‘F**k it, I’m going to go.’ You know, what if you practice it and you get hurt, what does it mean? You get injured practicing. You do that in a real match and get hurt, at least you do it in a real match.”

Angle competed in a number of Royal Rumble contests, his first taking place in the 2002 Rumble, where he was the final contestant to be eliminated by the victor Triple H. The 2019 Royal Rumble saw the Olympic gold medallist enter at #4 and finish with a finish time of slightly over three minutes.

Due to her involvement in “WWE Raw’s” 30th-anniversary celebration, the WWE Hall of Famer had a busy Monday. Angle joined D-Generation X as an honorary member during “Raw Is XXX,” when he officiated the six-man tag team bout between Imperium and Seth Rollins and The Street Profits as a special referee. The Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, will host the Royal Rumble on January 28, 2023.
