I thought the acting was great and I enjoyed the two overlapping stories of the mom and the DEA agent and the related story of the professor's challenges with pharma and university funding.

The main DEA officer says "f**k" every sentence. It's overly forced & he's the worst actor in the movie. Besides him it would've been a great movie.

This is an opioid movie on acid. Which is an odd choice. Any attempt at depth is discarded for a fast-paced plot-driven script. This means there's no character development or any slow moments in which the viewer might invest emotionally in the people or the events on screen. A superficial, three-pronged look at the actants in the crisis - victim, DEA officer and a scientist.
