LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Two-million. That’s how many people in the state are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To put that in perspective, that is more just over 34 percent of the state the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is also reporting over 2 and a half million, or 43 percent, have received their first dose of a vaccine.

Taking a look around western Wisconsin. Eau Claire County is reporting 38 percent of the county is now fully vaccinated, 35 percent in Chippewa, 28 percent in Dunn County and 41 percent of people in La Crosse County are fully vaccinated.

Today the Wisconsin Department of Health Services is reporting just over 400 new cases of COVID-19

The total number of cases is now hovering near 600 thousand.

Of those cases, DHS says 97 percent of them are considered recovered and nearly 9-thousand people are dealing with an active case of the virus.

Today, 30 more people are hospitalized, and the state is taking back two deaths from yesterday’s report.
