COVID-19 Testing Map

As COVID-19 vaccines continue to prevent serious illness and death, the virus is expected to continue to circulate, not unlike the flu. Testing remains an important tool to identify the virus and protect Kansan communities against its spread. Testing is available at locations across Kansas, including pharmacies, healthcare providers, and some employers. Free testing locations are available in many communities to support access to testing for those who have symptoms or who are at risk for exposure to COVID in their communities. Some Kansans may also be able to receive tests through their school, workplace, or long-term care facility.
Testing at Home
Kansans can also test for COVID-19 using an at-home rapid test, and there are several ways to get one:
- All Kansas households are eligible for free tests from KDHE's partnership with RF Catalytic Capital and Project Access to Covid Tests (Project ACT). Visit AccessCovidTests.org.
- All U.S. households may be eligible to order at-home tests for free from the federal government, pending funding approval and supply availability. Learn more by visiting covidtests.gov. Learn about additional test kit options for Medicare recipients.
- At-home rapid tests can be purchased at a pharmacy. For Kansans with a health insurance plan, these tests can be purchased at no cost or reimbursed through your health plan. Check with your health plan for details and keep your receipt to submit your claim for reimbursement. For Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries, check with your plan or state agency for information.
- At-home tests may be available through federally-supported health centers, Volunteer Testing Partners, and other organizations in your community as well.

COVID-19 Treatment
For people who test positive and are more likely to get very sick from COVID-19 infection, medications are available that can reduce the chances of severe illness and death. Find test-to-treat options.

Community testing, a cornerstone of the KDHE COVID-19 Testing Strategy, allows trusted organizations to provide testing to their communities in partnership with KDHE and the Kansas Health and Health and Environmental Lab. Organizations may choose the program that best matches their own testing approach to maximize impact, either the Community Testing Partner or Volunteer Testing Program. Learn more.
Regular COVID-19 testing can provide a healthier, safer workplace while minimizing the risk of outbreaks and major disruptions, especially for businesses who may have unvaccinated employees.Learn more.
Screening for COVID-19 in long-term care facilities provides rapid provision of care and outbreak management to communities who are especially vulnerable. Facilities can use state sponsored tests for regular COVID-19 screening of staff, residents and visitors. Learn more.
