Across my four years of High school Coral Gables Senior High School was not something to be proud of. To start, the campus is outdated and everything is under construction there is no library or music room. The classrooms are falling apart paint chipped, rust all over, terrible on school electronics. Aside from that, the school favors one certain group of students. The IB students and everyone gets sent to the dumpster and is forgotten about. Anyone that is not in IB get treated horribly and does not have the same resources or support as other IB students. But, there were two teacher that guided me here David Dresner and Frank Ciprianni which I thank them a lot for but if it was not for them then I might not had enjoyed my senior year as much as I have.
I've stepped foot in coral gables for the very first time in 2020 after the covid-19 lockdown. Coral gables senior high has given me multiple experiences in many different situation my worst experience has to definitely be when my 11th grade teacher did not like me causing it to be very hard to excel in her class simply due to the fact that she did not like me. One of my best experiences was definitely my first homecoming. I went to my very first homecoming in 11th grade and something about that night was so special the teachers organized that event very well and everything just felt right. One thing i would really like to see change is definitely the way that students get treated some are never given the benefit of the doubt and teachers for the most part act as if they are a lot more superior that us causing some very out of pocket things to say. Overall gables hasn't been the worst nor the best but it definitely did change me as a person throughout these last four years.
The classes are pretty easy to understand. Pep rallies are first come first serve that needs to change. They ate my brownie that i was rewarded for honor roll. Everything is money you have to pay fees for classes. The school therapist never reached out to me when i asked for help. You have to make appointments for your counselors. Food is okay
