Helpful Tips for Contact Lens Care
- Dispose of contact lenses as prescribed.
- Lenses should be stored in the recommended solutions while you are not wearing them.
- Don't store your lenses in their holder without solution.
- If your lenses become dehydrated, throw them out. Don't try to re-hydrate and reuse them as the shape of your lens will be distorted.
- You should use a new case every 1-3 months.
- If your solution has passed its expiration date, throw it out.
- If you have any questions about your contacts, reach out to your doctor.
- Try to always have a pair of current Rx glasses, in case your contacts tear or irritate your eyes.
- Before inserting your contacts, wash your hands with soap and water. Dry them off with a lint free, clean towel.
- If your eyes are already irritated, don't try to insert your contacts.
- Contacts should only be worn for the timeline suggested by your doctor.
- Storing and rinsing your contacts in tap water will render them useless.
- Keep a travel size bottle of solution with you. Trying to use your saliva or putting your contact in your mouth to rewet will transfer bacteria. Serious infections or damage to your eyes could be a result.
