Duane Eddy's distinctive guitar tone and low, twangy riffs brought him several instrumental hits (15 of his singles hit the Top 40) between 1958 and 1963, including iconic tracks like "Rebel-'Rouser," "Peter Gunn," "Cannonball," "Shazam," and "Forty Miles of Bad Road," all of which are included in this two-disc set that generously collects every A- and B-side and EP released by Eddy in the U.S.A. and U.K. between 1955 and 1962. Too much of Eddy at one sitting can get a little bit repetitive, but this survey of Eddy's distinctive work, which still plays remarkably well all these years later, is notable for the many B-sides, which give some expanse to things, so it's not just the hits, although they're here.
