Only stayed for one night but it was a very comfortable sleep after a long day in the blazing sun at Snapdragon Stadium for the Man U Wrexham match in July. The staff was very kind to allow us to check in a few minutes early to drop off our bags and freshen up before heading to stadium and throughout our stay. The hotel is walkable distance from the train station and while 15-20 minutes is not a very long walk, we definitely needed freshening up after the walk in 90 plus degree weather. Breakfast was the traditional eggs, protein choice, bagels, juice etc and very much appreciated as the next day no one had energy or the desire to go find breakfast outside the hotel before our train ride home. Room was comfy and clean. Note the parking lot is a bit small with awkward turns as it is directly under the hotel itself. We didn’t take a vehicle, not sure if there is a charge, only saw the parking as our friends drove. Also note there is a pool, we missed that detail and didn’t bring bathing suits. Hotel is situation in a generally nice area full of bohemian and artsy shops along the main road. I personally enjoyed picking up a cup of coffee from the Garden cafe a few blocks down. All in all, it was a very nice stay. We would stay here again if we attend another event in town.

The room was comfortable and the facility was clean, fresh, and modern. We liked the walking proximity to the Old Town transit station where one can easily catch the Trolley to the boarder, north to UTC, or east to other destinations. The breakfast is minimal - cereal and a piece of fruit in a bag - which was sufficient for us. You will need to also budget for an additional fee to park in the parking garage. I would not trust the street parking. The staff was courteous and friendly and when we had an issue with out room, they quickly moved us to another room. Our only issue with the king room is that there was no chair to sit on. You either sat on the bed or out by the pool. But the convenient access to Little Italy and public transit would make me choose this hotel on another visit. The room is only cleaned every 3 nights unless you request it.

We had a great visit. Ana checked us in and she was so friendly and gave us great information about the area. The location was perfect for walking to old town to get food and catch the old town trolley. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. We stayed on the third floor in the back and it was nice and quiet. I will definitely stay here again if I return to San Diego.

After I stayed overnight, I had breakfast (waited on line to make waffles, not interested in the yellow rubbery disks). When I went into the parking garage, there's a sign that says "courtesy" parking for hotel guests, yet I paid $12 a night. When I questioned the middle aged, black, female mgr about the signs, she got nasty. & claimed "courtesy" parking means parking is "available". Also, when you pay $134 for a night in Jan, you expect the shampoo & cream rinse to be replenished for the 2nd night, when the other bottles were empty & in the trash, And I did not expect to be charged $1.12 per night for "use of the in-room safe " whether I used it or not. Also I was told parking is optional because there is street parking- NOT. This hotel is on the service road of a freeway & there are many hotels in the area. There are also some businesses & homes behind the hotel, but there are NO parking spaces, so plan on paying for parking. Also, note that the spots in the parking garage are VERY tight (& I have a compact car.)

Staff kind and breakfast was good but our bathroom was unsafe and should have never been rented. Outlets on light did not work. Room beds were clean and comfortable but you should be able to shower safely when renting a hotel room. They offers a 10% discount when asking to switch rooms but the discount is not sufficient when you spend $165 for a night you expect the ability to shower safely.

Booked three rooms for two nights because of the proximity to the Zoo & Old Town.
The batteries were dead in one of the remotes.
None of the safes were functioning.
The spa was drained & the pool was dirty.
All the rooms had trash under the beds & our room had an empty Gatorade bottle beneath the curtain by the AC.
One of the rooms had the artwork ripped off the wall.
Our room's smoke detector was ripped off of the ceiling.
On the first morning, the breakfast staff was standing on either side of the area doorways eating & talking without regards to the guests. On both days, the hot meat was empty and staff did not seem to care; as they were carrying on their own personal conversations instead of attending to stocking the kitchen.
The floor of the lobby was dirty and sticky.
Also check-in was not seamless, they seemed confused and I really wasn't confident on the process.
I booked through choicehotels. I have stayed at their chains many times for a decade and this one was subpar to their standards. I left a review on their site, to which, the GM Manu Patel responded with a generic response.

Note that parking is very tight. We have a large vehicle & fortunately have disabled placards so we were able to park above ground. However, when I did inquire on disabled parking, they did comp our parking fee.

Do NOT book here. First I was quoted the rewards member rate ( I am a rewards member) m, however after the charge went through I was given the regular rate, almost $10 more a night. I called and gave my rewards number but they refused to honor the price. I couldn’t cancel because it was nonrefundable. When we got there, it was run-down and there was not a hot tub even though they clearly advertise on THEIR website that they have one. First night, our sink backed up and we hadn’t even used it. No one could fix it until the following day. We were staying with 7 other families and the sewer pipes leaked on top of one of their cars overnight in the parking garage. Their brand new car smelled of urine, even on the inside. The second day our air conditioning would turn on and off making a really loud noise every time it would switch on and off (about every 30 minutes) We tried to sleep like this but it would wake us up every time it turned on and off. We were told it could not be fixed until the following day. We got back after a long day of softball and we’re told they did not have any clean towels for us to use to shower. They said the hospitality staff would not be in until the following day. So we found a few hand towels and shared those. The pool ladder was broken and my husband hurt his leg when he stepped on it and it bent in half. The front desk said they did not have the tools to fix it do one of the other dads in our group busted out his tools and fixed it so no one else would get hurt. Our very last night we were told we could change rooms where the air conditioning worked but that we would have to check out first. They would hold our luggage and when a room was available they would check us in. I told them absolutely not. I could only imagine that we would check out and they would check someone else in and then not have a room for us. It was such a disaster. We finally got a room change (bummer because we weren’t able to stay with the rest of our group) but we needed air conditioning. In the new room the carpet was wet ( it must have been shampooed that morning) so we couldn’t walk around in our socks. The tv remote also wouldn’t work. At that point I didn’t complain because I was just so done with the whole place. TOTAL DISASTER - what should have been relaxing was just draining!

A bit disappointing in several ways, despite the great location and long-term potential. The front desk staff was excellent, but there were many letdowns in the overall experience. Construction projects underway not revealed in advance. The internet was down for an extended period, causing loss of work time and loss of sleep as a result. It took three requests to get the "room safe charge" taken off my bill. The ventilation system in the room was loud, erratic and barely functional as either a fan or an air conditioner. The desk chair was very low and could not be elevated, resulted in extended typing work done with hands at the chest level. The lack of a newspaper is an ongoing disappointment these days at many Choice hotels, including this one. All that said, the bed and linens were nice and comfortable, nice towels in bath and good room size. Lots of room for improvement!!

It was $16 a night during the week- it is in a covered garage however the pipes that run throughout the ceiling of the garage can leak and they are the sewer pipes so park at your own risk.

Depends on the room. Our first room did not gave a safe. We had to move rooms due to our air conditioning not working, took 3 nights for another available room to open up but this one did have a safe.
