I'd discovered Cold Spring Tavern while hunting on Pinterest. So glad we stopped in on our way to Pismo Beach. First, it's a beautiful drive and the history is fun! We got lucky and only had a 15 minute wait. We split the tri tip sandwich and fries, it was just delicious! Service was friendly and fast, all of the staff was just wonderful! We loved sitting and looking at all the fun decor and photos. I highly recommend a stop at Cold Spring Tavern! I'd suggest reservations and prepare to park and walk a little ways.

The ambiance was quaint and historic.

The customer service is not friendly and unfortunately sets a bad tone for the rest of the experience. I've been there twice and same thing both times.

The food was ok but did not live up to the hype. The potato salad was my favorite food item.

Such a great hidden place with so much history. Pulled pork sandwich was to die for. Onion rings were absolutely amazing. Tri-tip sandwich was good. Would recommend anyone driving this hidden path to stop by this place.

This was such a cute hole in the ~mountain~ spot! The vibes are amazing, especially with the live music. It really makes you feel like you're not in California. I recommend skipping the restaurant and just getting the tri-tip sandwich (if the sandwich is all you want to try). Not only do you get your food super quickly, but you can also sit wherever you want! I HIGHLY recommend putting their apple horseradish on it...it was amazinggg! They also have a great selection of beer. I loved their Tangerine Ale, but many of the locals also recommended any of their IPAs if you like hoppy beers. Make sure to stop by if you're going through Santa Barbara!

Extremely beautiful & historic place to visit if you're ever around Castaic Lake. Hometown good food with plenty of drinks to go around. The beer battered onion rings are delicious without being over greasy. I find it hard to imagine anything on the menu not tasting good. I although I was a couple of drinks deep and thought, " Ahhh maaannn these place iSSSS the Fuc!ng BEST!"... But truly trust when I say it is worth a stop.

Rainy days at this historic stagecoach stop restaurant are always memorable. A blonde beer in the tavern (yes, I like brunettes too ) followed with a lunch/dinner at the restaurant will make any patron wanting to return. Their garden salad with ranch is fresh (good ranch!), a bowl of the sirloin chili (three styles of chili offered along with a tasting of the three) ending with the traditional tri-tip sandwich with bar-b-q sauce, salsa and apple horseradish sauce is delicious! You will find yourself returning for years to come....

On our way back from Solvang we had dinner here. The buildings were really cool. Had a couple drinks in the Log Cabin Inn waiting for our 5pm reservation.

Food was great. Had the tri tip and filet mignon. The horseradish was fantastic. Had the apple cobbler.

Tip: make a reservation. This place is small. Maybe 12 tables. First seating is 5pm then a 6:30. During our 5pm seating the phone rang a dozen times with people trying to make a resection or walk ins trying to get a table. We made our reservation at 12/1pm that day.

this place is a hidden gem. oh my, is it gorgeous. you feel like you're part of an old stagecoach movie. so so beautiful. if you keep driving a little more, you see san marcos pass. even the drive up is so beautiful. i had the chicken ceaser salad, SO so yummy. my family ordered the bbq and hamburger options and they were unbelivably yummy. this place is so worth the wait...highly reccomend visiting during the week for less flow. so quiet and relaxing. the apple cobbler dessert is SO buttery and rich...yum. this place is a must visit and i will be back.

the service here is interesting. my family and i were the only latinos and we felt uncomfortable with the welcoming team outside. they were slightly dismissive of us and seating others faster when we had been there...that feeling went away when we sat down and our waiter was (a very friendly) latino, but the feeling was off. nothing to be concerned about, but just to be prepared for.
