    March Madness at Lloyd Harbor

    If you think March Madness is only for basketball, think again! Ms. O’Donnell, Library Media Specialist, decided to apply that excitement to a Tournament of Books contest for all the students at Lloyd Harbor School. Some of the brackets featured favorite picture books shared as schoolwide titles read by all classes earlier this year.

    Gnomes Love Poems

    Adorable gnomes have appeared throughout the hallways of Lloyd Harbor School this month. These gnomes are especially fond of poetry, which explains why they arrived during National Poetry Month! In addition to all those in the hallways, a gnome came to visit each core classroom during the week before spring break. Each gnome was hiding and holding on to a poem.

    National Honor Society Induction Ceremony

    Cold Spring Harbor was proud to congratulate the National Honor Society 80 inductees! It was an honor for the administration and staff to celebrate students on April 18 at the Performing Arts Center. This is a remarkable accomplishment that validates the students’ dedication and commitment to hard work throughout the years. Congratulations to all!

    At the April Board of Education meeting, the Board approved the resignation for purposes of retirement for Ms. Mona Hecht, Assistant Superintendent for Counseling, Student Services & Human Resources, who has served in the educational system for 34 years.

    Thespian Honor Society

    International Thespian Honor Society Induction: Congratulations to the following recipients honoring student achievement in theatre. Five students were inducted to the society on April 17th: Zoe Ableson, Petra Schneider, Amelia Saladino, Angel Tannini, and Charlotte Wells. Music and Theater Workshop teacher, Mr. Daniel Santangelo, recognized them for their work both on and off stage - joined here by administration and past recipients for the ceremony. Bravo!

    Cold Spring Harbor Central School District continues its monthly collaboration amongst all the schools. For April, the theme was “Art in Our Schools Month.” Thank you to all the schools for participating, especially by recognizing that April 15 was “World Art Day.” Nationwide, this is a day to celebrate the arts and appreciate their importance in our lives. It is a day to come together and appreciate the beauty of art in all its forms.
