    Principal Olney graduated from ASU in 2000 with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Global Business. His first career started at Charles Schwab as a stockbroker. Following September 11, 2001 he decided to change career paths. In 2004, he started his teaching career as a math teacher at Chaparral High School. In 2014, he earned his National Board certification in Mathematics and was awarded the Scottsdale Charros Teacher of the Year for Chaparral HS. In 2016, he completed his Master's Degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University and was awarded teacher of the year at Chaparral HS by the student body. He spent 3 years as the Assistant Principal of Student Activities at Coronado and 4 years as the SUSD Summer School Principal. In his spare time, Principal Olney likes to spend time with his family, and enjoys anything to do with astronomy and the outdoors.

    Mrs. Ambri is incredibly excited to be joining the Administrative Team at Cocopah as Assistant Principal. She has been an educator for twelve years, with nine spent in the Scottsdale District, and became a part of the Cocopah family last year. Mrs. Ambri has taught elementary, middle and high school, during which she was presented with the Arizona Middle Level Association Educator of the Year Award and the Scottsdale Charros Outstanding Educator Award. She holds a Bachelor of Education from Arizona State University, Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University, and is the proud mom of ASU and UofA graduates. Mrs. Ambri brings to this position a passion for ensuring that all stakeholders are a part of a culture of support and excellence, and is honored to have the opportunity to serve the students, staff, parents, and community of Cocopah.

    Mrs. Barber enthusiastically serves as a Teacher on Assignment in Administration and the school Athletic Director.  She works closely with Mr. Olney and Mrs. Ambri when it comes to academic and behavioral intervention and ensuring success of all students on campus.

    Mrs. Barber holds a  Bachelor's Degree in Human Communication and a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University as well as a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership with an Emphasis in K-12 Principalship from Northern Arizona University.

    A native of Arizona, Mrs. Barber attended Cocopah Middle School and graduated from Chaparral High School.  She recently married and many current and former students and families may know her by her maiden last name, Miss James.  Prior to being a Teacher on Assignment, Mrs. Barber taught 8th grade English Language Arts at Cocopah for four years. Mrs. Barber is passionate about education, and she looks forward to being a positive influence on the youth of today who will become the leaders of tomorrow!
