About
We love welcoming guests from all over the world to the first home of Bill and Hillary Clinton and where they were married. The Museum is situated in the beautiful Ozark Mountains in Fayetteville, Arkansas. This home has a special place in local, national, and international history. Bill Clinton took Hillary Rodham's hand in marriage 17 years before he would be elected President. The home's series of owners also have deep roots in local Arkansas history. The museum houses memorabilia of Clinton's early political career, including his campaigns for US House of Representatives and Arkansas Attorney General. Temporary and timely exhibits cover the history of Secretary Clinton's life in public service and her time in Arkansas. The collections include a faithful replica of Hillary's wedding dress and a timeline of the Clinton years in Fayetteville. Our museum store has books related to the Clinton legacy, Arkansas history, Arkansas politics, and the culture of the Ozarks. We also have mementos, gifts, and more for a keepsake of your visit. The Museum is open to the public and donations are welcome.

The house and grounds were beautiful from the outside. The museum was closed when we had a chance to visit , but we walked around the house and looked at the beautiful first ladies’ garden. The house itself looks so quaint and cute. We’ll definitely come back again when it’s open !

We were visiting Fayetteville where we lived for several years in the 80s. We got to meet Bill and Hillary then and have many connections with them and the University of Arkansas. This is a charming little museum that relates to their time in Fayetteville. It was very cool to see so many items that were specially connected on us. Yet, I think others would enjoy seeing the Clinton House.

This museum is rather interesting for what it is. I am not a big Clinton fan but he was a US President and, as such, along with Hillary, is a part of history. I have seen twenty or so Presidential homes and this one is the least impressive architecturally by far. But the stories related inside are informative and enjoyable nonetheless, especially since they include context from my lifetime to which I can relate.

I had some extra time when I was in Fayetteville and this was unquestionably the most interesting site available in the area. I am also on a mission to see all sites (homes, museums, libraries, etc.) associated with each President in American history, which gave me additional incentive to see this museum. This house was a bit off the beaten path just south of the U of Arkansas campus but I found it with the help of my GPS.

Upon driving up, the house was not impressive as it would fit in any middle class neighborhood in the US. It was a modest-sized, very unobtrusive brick structure. It was so understated that I almost felt funny pulling into the driveway as it seemed like I was intruding on someone's privacy.

I entered through the back door and was greeted by the curator who was an exceptionally friendly and very knowledgeable chap. I thought the $8 entry fee was a little steep for what it was as the displays were fairly abbreviated compared to like museums I have visited. Nonetheless, I paid and began my tour. The curator made himself available to answer any questions but, in general, it was set up for a self-guided tour.

Each room covered various aspects of the Clinton's life and career. The President's early life was covered in the front room. Several aspects of his childhood were discussed going into his teen years, which included the famous picture of him meeting President Kennedy as a teenager. The next room covered Hillary's life and there were some interesting facts brought forward about which I was unaware. This included the importance of Hillary's Methodist upbringing in shaping her life perspective.

The account of Hillary and Bill's early years during courtship and marriage held some interest. The back rooms, however, were largely devoted in some detail to Clinton's early electoral pursuits. His unsuccessful run for US Representative was interesting as, despite the fact that he lost, it was this process that launched his notoriety and, therefore, his career. His runs for attorney general and governor were also quite interesting and there were several original campaign ads running in a loop on a DVD player. His election platforms brought forth in these ads were particularly fascinating as there were many aspects, including things like balanced budgets, etc., in which he sounded more like a Republican than a Democrat by today's standards. It is no wonder how he was able to work across the aisle so often during his Presidential tenure.

One thing that was notably absent was even a brief treatment of Clinton's personal failings. While this was somewhat predictable, burying heads in the sand might be a little disingenuous. In the Franklin Pierce House, for example, there was no hesitance to discuss his debilitating alcohol problem. Again, these failings are part of history, are public record and don't go away by ignoring them.

Overall, this is not the most interesting Presidential site you will ever visit. Nor is it the most impressive of the historically significant homes you will ever come upon. Nonetheless, it commemorates an important part of history that is worth exploring. The tour is quick so it won't take much time. The story is highly relevant as the events involving the Clintons largely took place during most contemporary visitors' lifetimes. Regardless of one's political bent, it is worth learning more about the Clinton era and the Clintons themselves. It is also interesting to consider that the story told in the museum has yet to conclude. For those who are Clinton admirers, it will hold special significance.

My husband and I went through the Clinton House Museum and loved it! This is the first home of Bill and Hillary Clinton and they were married in this house as well. It highlights Bills early political career including some rare campaign commercials. A very charming attraction with charming staff. A must see if you are in Northwest Arkansas.

I just felt evil in that house...but it might have been because I was wearing my Make America Great Again Hat.....you can walk through in 10 min. The rose garden was dead...and parking is very narrow. There is a tour you can pay for but I don't think they were impressed by my MAGA hat so I left.

I'm sorry you felt unwelcome. We are always happy to see anyone who chooses to visit! We are proud to be able to offer all of our tours for free, so it's unfortunate you felt you had to pay for something. Please come by again soon and let us tell you some of the fun stories about Fayetteville in the 1970s.

My wife and I visited the Clinton House Museum recently on a trip to Arkansas. It's not a very big house (or museum), with only a few rooms to tour. There's a short video, cardboard cutouts of Bill and Hillary to take your picture with, and a variety of mementos and things to read about the Clintons. There was no one visiting when we went to the museum, and our efforts to pay by credit card didn't work. There was a nice garden in the back and a decorated pig in the front. If you're a fan of the Clintons, which we are, then it's worth checking out.

Not ideal for a busy toddler, but otherwise a fun experience. The garden was really nice, and it was cool to read about the Clinton's being married in the home.

It's a cute home with a neat story. They have a gift shop too. The First Ladies Garden seems to have been added in 2010 and is super cute! They pictures and memorabilia here are worth the visit. It's a beautiful home and so very typical of the Fayetteville homes around campus. The wood floors and original bathroom tile are neat to see. They as the story goes we're married in the living room of this house in 1975. Adorable museum for what it is. Great staff members. Tonight was the open house so Hillary's wedding dress was on display. It was beautiful! And there was a remake of their original wedding cake which was lovely too. What a fun place to visit.

See the former home of a couple of young hippies. Little did they know what would be happening in 2016. Go visit and talk to the friendly hosts. Put aside your political trauma and pretend it's 1975. Turn on Captain and Tennille or John Denver and have some fun. Beware of the driveway parking situation, small and steep!

Clinton's wedding dress, a few family pictures, a short video about some of their political life... that's about it. The video was somewhat entertaining and educational. Good for a quick 30 minute visit and you're done.
