160

After a successful 2022 comeback, leaders in the CGI community came together again at the 2023 CGI Annual Meeting to answer the call to drive progress  — launching 160 new CGI Commitments to Action on a wide range of issues, including a dedicated CGI Action Network on the humanitarian response in Ukraine and a new focus on projects that will advance equal rights and opportunities for women and girls worldwide.

When fully funded and implemented, the 160 new Commitments to Action will have a positive impact on the lives of more than 285 million people. Collectively, when fully implemented, these commitments will facilitate:

  • More than 1 million people receiving job training or skills development;
  • The creation of more than 55,000 full-time, permanent jobs;
  • Increased access to primary care services for more than 54 million people;
  • Training for more than 115,000 new health workers for improved healthcare services;
  • More than $170 million in funding to support innovation and entrepreneurship.

861,000

The CGI Overdose Response Network continued its work to combat overdose deaths across America. To date, ORN has distributed 861,000 doses of naloxone to recovery residencies, high schools, universities, and community organizations. And for National Recovery Month in September, the team organized a bus tour across Georgia aimed at celebrating long-term recovery and engaging leaders across the state in our work.

25

In April, the Clinton Presidential Center and our Project42 initiative, marked the 25th anniversary of the historic Good Friday Agreement, which ended decades of sectarian violence in Northern Ireland and established a framework for shared government.

400 Million

The Family Medical Leave Act and AmeriCorps’ – turned 30 this year, and in the years since they were established, people have utilized FMLA more than 400 million times.

1.2 million

As we celebrate the anniversary of Americorps, we also celebrate more than 1.2 million volunteers who have served their communities through AmeriCorps. Behind each of these numbers are stories about real people benefiting from common sense policy solutions.
