Claire Giannini Hoffman,was the daughter of A. P. Giannini, founder of Bank of America and was the first woman to serve on the boards of Bank of America and Sears, Roebuck & Company. She also was the only woman guest invited at international bank conference events for some two decades. She was an accomplished horsewoman and kept a stable at Champagne Paddock, her 11 acre estate in Woodside.
