THROUGH THE DECADES AND FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE POST POSITIONS FOR KENTUCKY DERBY 150 WILL BE DRAWN A FULL WEEK IN ADVANCE. CARAY, ALONG WITH THE POST POSITIONS FOR NEXT FRIDAY’S KENTUCKY OAKS. Opening night for Churchill Downs is Saturday, which marks the start of the Spring Meet.The theme for Opening Night is "Derby Through the Decades."For the first time, post positions for Kentucky Derby 150 and Oaks will be drawn on Opening Night.There will be 10 races Saturday night, with the first one taking off at 6 p.m. The post positions, aka the Pill Pull, will happened between Races 3 and 4.In addition to the racing and Pill Pull, there'll be a few other special happenings to kick off the Spring Meet.At 8:40 p.m. at the Kentucky Derby Red Carpet, there will be the Rodes For Him/For Here Fashion Experience.
