What happened to Chuck Biscuits?

He kinda just vanished off the face of the earth. When he left Danzig, danzig just said he had personal issues that were getting in the way of the band and there was no hard feelings. Then he is pretty much never heard from again anywhere after that or brought up by danzig. any info on how hes doing now or what happened to him?

Didn't he go back to play with Social Distortion after leaving Danzig? Think he did that for a few years, though I'm not 100% sure. No idea what he's up to nowadays though.

Great fuckin drummer anyways.

I just read an article on that era of Social D and Mike Ness says Chuck refers to his time in Danzig as “nine years of hell”. I like White Light, White Heat, White Trash. Let me see if I can find the article.

Edit: here’s the article https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/lifestyle/1997/02/07/social-distortion-loud-and-clear/a2c0b8e3-cc04-4232-bda4-249c899d70d3/

Thanks for this! I met Chuck and Social D on that tour! Still have my signed Danzig pic with Chuck's signature.

No problem! I found that article when I was reading another article about Goldenvoice promotions that mentioned Mike Ness and somehow I ended up finding that one about the WLWHWT era of Social D. Chuck’s my favorite punk drummer ever. He’s like the Keith Moon of punk rock!

Here’s the other article if you are interested: https://www.laweekly.com/goldenvoice-the-hazy-punk-rock-early-days/

Thanks dude! Yes he is... excellent drummer and nice guy as well.

Damn, I just realized I thought he had died because I read about it years ago and now I go to his Wikipedia page and see that it was all a hoax. A reminder of how naive I used to be, and I guess I'm still capable of being.

My dad used to buy vicadin off him

He used to be kinda active on Facebook, but looks like he hasn't posted anything in a while.

They kicked him out because his heroin addiction was interfering with the band touring and with pretty much every other aspect of his band performance.

Pretty sure he was the first to leave when they were given employment contracts on the 1st leg of the 4p tour.

This contract had a no-drug use policy, which he was unable to comply with.

Possibly. I was under the impression that they thought they were in a band and the contracts made them hired guns for Glenn and were pissed. Can't remember if this was from a random interview or Eerie's book.

Misifts Central has Joey C joining in 9/94. I was at the Providence, RI show on 12/1/94 and almost positive Chuck played that show.

Before the show we were looking for street parking and Eerie was walking towards the venue looking really, really pissed. I said hey Eerie and he kind blew me off with "they're on the bus but I wouldn't go there." and kept walking. I'd never met him before and was mildly crushed by it, was still a great show. Learned long after the fact they had supposedly been handed their contracts that night.

Kind of makes sense because Eerie is generally known to be really, really nice. He ran the fan club and was always really great with answering mail and stuff. Also this was right about when Jerry was suing to get control of the Misfits back.

When it comes to music, money, contracts, and drugs, who knows? You’re right about Eerie. I never met him, but friends who have say he is a super nice and laid back guy. He’d have to be to put up with Glenn all those years. Why is it always the little short guys that have something to prove? Lol.

No it was Joey because a few days later they were in Chicago and it was definitely Joey Castillo playing drums. I had just turned 14 and my aunt brought me to the Riveria for Danzig, Type-O, and Godflesh.

A few years ago he was posting on youtube, or there was an interview, that he was giving guitar lessons and was ready to reunite with Danzig.

You're thinking of John Christ

Last I heard he works at a Costco in Washington.

At least he used to yes, amongst other places. I worked with him and had a decent relationship with him. Charles (Chuck Biscuits) is extremely funny, creative, kind and modest punk legend that never boasted about any of his past, but would from time to time would entertain my curious mind by answering questions. To be honest I probably worked with him at least a year before I learned he had any connection to the music industry at all, and only by my incessant curiosity did I learn more about his background. I don't know his entire story nor am I a voice for Chuck by any means, but I left like he was burned out of the industry, its celebration of ego's and lack of loyalty. There were stories of completely disrespectful band members from the past, touring tension, lawsuits, etc. Overall it seemed to paint a picture that was not as glorious as to what I think we imagine successful touring punk/ metal/ rock 'n roll bands, even if it is a DIY level sleep in the van type level band.

That’s fuckin cool. Best drummer.

That's a pretty neat story. Kinda late to the post. But if you don't mind, what kind of work did you do with him. We're you a fan of any of the groups he was in?

I worked as a local stagehand long ago and one day found myself unloading trucks with a highly respected drummer in punk/soul music.

Everybody gotta eat.
