Nestled in Deer Valley, the Stein Eriksen Lodge is celebrated for its refined atmosphere and spacious, well-appointed rooms that exude elegance. While the resort's luxurious amenities—such as ski-in/ski-out access and private hot tubs—earn high praise, some guests mention privacy issues and challenges with the hot tub covers. The service is generally lauded for being attentive, although occasional lapses, such as a misplaced car, are noted. The hotel's cleanliness and upkeep contribute to a tranquil retreat, yet opinions on value vary, with some suggesting off-season visits for a more satisfactory experience.

Where do I start with explaining our magical family celebration at Stein Eriksen Lodge?

The accommodations were spectacular. Throughout our many families, we had 18 people including a baby, three toddlers, and three tweens. We were set up in suites next to each other - all cribs were set up and we ordered food through the concierge prior to arriving, allowing for a super seamless arrival and stay.

From the operations lead Dan Bullert, who exudes hospitality and warmth, to their concierge Laura, who literally orchestrated every step of our 5 days (reservations (plus the many changes), photos of the family, flowers, transportation, food deliveries, babysitting, spa appointments, and so much more), to the impeccable service from housekeeping, Wendy at the Front Desk and Elizabeth at the concierge, we were so thoughtfully cared for.

Our son got sick while on property and I think every individual at the hotel knew about it and asked how he was doing and if we needed anything. We truly were amazed at the communication and service provided. Laura even brought us a tent and toys because we were in the room so much with him resting. As parents, we were A OK because we had the fire place, wine and hot tub!

I recommend this beautiful place to any and all - my husband and I want to go back without the kids someday but until then, we have the magical memories from such a warm and hospitable team.

We stayed at Stein Eriksen for the first time in early April for five days. We had a luxury suite with a mountain view, two queens, a hot tub on the balcony, and two sinks. It was an amazing room that was well-maintained and did not show much wear at all. Room 218-4. Our family of four (9 yo, 11yo girls) all enjoyed the room very much since we had so much room to stretch. They give you extra bottles of water at night so you stay hydrated and the beds are super comfy.

We brought our ski boots and skis from home. The guys at the ski locker room were very helpful and had our skis outside ready for us each day. We also left our gloves and helmets in the ski lockers so that they could dry out. Stein Eriksen has air tubes that you put into your boots and gloves to dry them out. Genius idea. This is true luxury skiing.

We ate at Glitretind for breakfast every morning as it was included with our stay. The buffet was very good. Lots of options from smoked salmon to oatmeal with all of the fixings to eggs of all kinds, and sausage/bacon/ham. The real winner was the sunday breakfast buffet and the sunday lunch buffet!! I know that they are closed for the season until May, but if you stay at Stein Eriksen, stay on a sunday because the food is amazing! Prime rib, salads galore, so much yummy food.

Ask for a smores kit for the kiddos. They will provide you one or two for free! Tip: the games in the Champions Club are all free!

I was there for nearly a week for a work incentive trip as the Event Specialist on site. My room was absolutely amazing with a full kitchen and hot tub that was prepared for my arrival and stayed warm every day. The views were jaw dropping. We were lucky to get snowfall one day even in late May.

We were impressed with both the restaurant and catering food. I've worked events for over a decade and sometimes the best resorts are lacking with their banquet food. This was not the case. Even their buffet for our welcome reception was on point. Utah alcohol laws took a little getting used to as you have to be sitting in a chair to get served and can not go to the restaurant/bar for just drinks. You have to order food. We were disappointed that some of the restaurants were closed for renovation/ between seasons and had not been advised prior to signing our contract that this was going to be the case. In fact we were told that would not be an issue. Room service was extremely pricey after all the fees. One omelet for breakfast cost me nearly $45 after fees and gratuity. Opted to walk to the restaurant and take it to go to save myself the extra charges.

We had some issues with the room assignments and front desk staff telling us rooms were ready but when some of our attendees arrived, including our C-suite/ CEO, they were told otherwise. Otherwise the rest of the staff, including banquet and sales staff were great.

Complimentary shuttle service to Main Street was great. We were advised that Ubers from the resort were not reliable.

Had a little trouble figuring out the a/c the first night as did other attendees. Once I figured out the second night if I adjusted the living room thermostat instead of just the bedroom thermostat, I was much more comfortable. Room service was prompt. House keeping did a great job and I enjoyed the turn-down service each night.

Would love to come back in the winter with family.

On a recent trip to Park City, I had the opportunity to stay at Stein Eriksen Lodge and what a truly special place it is. The only disappointment was actually having to leave to go home.

The location is spectacular and the views are just absolutely breath taking, but more importantly the entire staff is incredible and beyond helpful with anything that you might need with luggage, ski equipment, lockers, etc. The attention to detail on the small things like chocolate truffles on your pillow each night and heated floors in the bathroom truly make this property first-class.

The food was out of this world, including one of the best breakfast buffets I've ever had. The jazz band during apres was just the perfect way to unwind after a day on the slopes.

On this trip, I did not have a vehicle, but Stein made that so effortless with being able to use their shuttles or even access to a Lincoln Navigator which was such a cool experience!

Highly recommend Stein Eriksen, and can't wait to come back and enjoy the property again very soon. There isn't a better property in Park City.

Stein Eriksen is one of the best places to stay in Deer Valley. The customer service and hospitality are top notch. Our room came with two fireplaces. One is a real wood burning fireplace with an ample supply of firewood. The other was a gas-powered fireplace located in our room. The on-site dining was very good. I highly recommend the pot roast. It is by far the best I've ever had. Both the living area and bedroom have DVD players or online options for movies. The kitchen comes with a Keurig coffee maker. The shuttle service is fantastic and accessible via an online application. You simply add a pick-up location and drop off in the Park City area. Super convenient when you just don't want to drive.

Beautiful resort but unfortunately the customer service is terrible. We are hotel guests staying in a luxury suite and I called at 8am to check for dinner reservations at Stein Alpenglobes and did not hear back until 1 pm after trying to call and following up with both the restaurant and front desk multiple times only to find out that there was no availability for the next week. I then called to make reservations at Glitretind and instead of putting me on hold they completely hung up on me. The front desk is impossible to get in contact with and it is very frustrating. I called for five waters since they only put two in your room a day and they tried to charge us $60 for the waters....! It’s very unfortunate that such a beautiful place is ruined by terrible service.

We stayed for three nights. Hotel is bit out of town which I liked. The surrounding hills are nice to look at. The staff are very professional and courteous. Having a hot tub on your balcony is great. Bathrooms are large and jacuzzi tub a nice touch. Dressing are us also large. Bed which is a Beautyrest Black mattress was very comfortable. This being a 5* star resorts I had sone concerns. The resort felt dated to be especially furniture in room. Our AC did not work properly. We complained and somebody replaced filter which made it work for a day but then it did not work again. Did not like valet parking system during Covid-19. Restaurant brunch was just so. Instead of jazz brunch it should be called Folks brunch as no single jazz piece was played. I also did not like that hostess Asked me about food allergies (raw onions) but then several of the dishes served during brunch had raw onions. Why ask about allergies if nothing is done about it. Spoke with manager about it who had little to say and did not even care to ask my name. He said he would speak to his staff about this. Pool. Very nice, but towel service was not available during all the times the pool said it was open.

Cons: Came with a group booked 100 + Rooms Asked for King bed denied. Asked for late check out knowing there will be more than 100 rooms checking out both requests was denied since we booked with a group.

Also air condition was making noise that we could not sleep first night till we called to fix

Valet asks where we're going. To the bar. Front desk asks. To the bar. We get to the bar. Closed until 6 for sanitation. There are a couple dozen folks eating and drinking
So, why doesn't the valet or front desk tell us they're closed until 6? Why not have a sign at the front door? Why sanitize a bar or restaurant at 5? How about 3 or 4? How do you sanitize the folks eating and drinking? Just asking

Stayed here last week. Great location and property, but it’s impossible to eat or get a drink as a hotel guest. I tried to get some drinks after skiing this weekend, and they said I had to wait in a huge line with tons of people. The line was inside too, during the pandemic, which isn’t comfortable.

If you pay $2,000 a night, you should be able to have a beer on the patio after a day of skiing—no questions asked.

It’s a nice place overall, but if having lunch at the hotel or a drinks after skiing are important to you, look into the Montage. They’re only opening their bars and restaurants to hotel guests.

can you ski at pcmr from deer valley
Answer from Stein_Collection
Park City, Utah24 contributions
There is a run at DVR and at PCMR, separated by a few yards - close enough whereby you could cross one ski run to the other. It would require ducking under a rope. This action would not be approved be either ski resort.

I have no idea seeing that I don't smoke. I would assume that you can walk out to the ski area and smoke there.

Yes, Most definitely! The skiing is great here in the winter, some of the best powder around. They have horse sled rides and snow-shoeing. You can get a room that has a private hot tub on your balcony. There are many good restaurants within walking distance of the resort including two on site. If you ski, this would be a great place for an anniversary

alas, they are BOTH elegant--so it will be difficult to decide. Stein's is mid mountain at Deer Valley so if you plan on skiing on that side of the mountain (one of best resorts in the USA--I have been skiing there since it opened) it is very convenient. Montage is atop Empire pass further down the mountain.
