Atlanta pastor Michael Youssef travels from U.S., joins Mexican churches to bring message of hope

ATLANTA–  Atlanta pastor and international evangelist Michael Youssef traveled to Veracruz, Mexico this weekend, bringing a message of hope and encouragement to record crowds. Drawing 16,480 people, the Come & See Veracruz Weekend Celebration was the largest Christian event in the region in over 20 years.

“The people of Mexico are living in uncertain and fearful times. There is so much turmoil, both political and spiritual, in this country,” explained Youssef. “We were able to share to the many thousands that attended that only true peace can be found in Jesus Christ.”

It was a message that struck home for many, as 1,439 responded to the invitation to put their faith in Jesus Christ. The number includes more than 700 children.

“We go where we are called by God,” Youssef continued, “and after seeing so much upheaval at the US-Mexico border, we felt that the good news of Jesus was desperately needed in Mexico.”

Dr. Michael Youssef is the founding pastor of the 3,000-member The Church of the Apostles in Atlanta, Ga. He is also the founder of Leading The Way Ministries, which uses radio and television programs to broadcast Christ’s message of hope to people on six continents and in 28 languages. His latest book, Heaven Awaits, discusses the topics of hope and heaven and how to make them a daily reality.  More information at LTW.org
