I am writing to let you know that I told the Conservative Association AGM on Wednesday 4th October that I would not be standing again for Parliament at the next election. Earlier this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and although the treatment has been successful, it has prompted me to think that after 22 years it is time for a change.

I am very grateful to you for the support I have been given by you all over the years. I will obviously carry on working as normal until the election and will hope to see you at one of the upcoming events.

to work with residents to preserve the character of Epsom, Ewell, Ashtead, Nork & Tattenhams.
to work to secure more policing for the area to tackle crime.

In February Epsom and Ewell Borough Council is starting its consultations about its plans for new house building locally.

The Government has asked local authorities to make provision for more housing, particularly affordable homes. There are too many young people who are struggling to afford to buy or even rent a home.

But I believe that that future planning must protect the character of the area. I want to get your input so that I can make the case for smart future development in the Borough.

In particular I want to push them to accept my proposals for the Kiln Lane and Longmead areas, which would meet much of our local housing need.
