Chloë Sevigny’s AM/PM routine

Actress, model and now perfume collaborator, Chloë Sevigny talks us through her love of matcha, soul-soothing baths and her digital detoxes

Beauty

IN THE MORNING

I’m obsessed with matcha…

…I make it at home with Cha Cha’s ceremonial-grade matcha powder. I have it either shaken cold or frothy and hot, but I don’t use any milk – just water. Sometimes, I’ll have a pot of Earl Grey that I buy at the Sullivan Street Tea & Spice Company.

I wake myself up with a hot shower and scrub…

…and use Aesop Geranium Leaf Body Cleanser and Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Liquid Soap, and then do a cold rinse. I then moisturize with Susanne Kaufmann Body Butter. NYDG Skincare SPF on my face and neck is non-negotiable, and I finish by spraying seven pumps of Little Flower, the fragrance I created with Régime des Fleurs, over my neck, on my hair and wrists, and down my body.

I eat a lot of protein…

…and a typical day includes hard-boiled eggs, grilled salmon and vegetables and legumes.

The one change I’ve made to my morning regime…

…is to leave my phone in the other room – it’s a gamechanger!

I get my exercise in by…

…doing Pilates, taking the stairs instead of the elevator and walking whenever possible.

IN THE EVENING

I can’t live without…

…my monthly Biologique Recherche facial at Rescue Spa and my appointment with Dr. Colbert at New York Dermatology Group.

Depending on the night I’ve had…

…I like to wash my feet to cool my body temperature down or have a long bath with Kneipp Valerian & Hops Bath Oil in the evening. The blue water soothes my soul.

I like to switch up my night-time regime depending on the time of year…

I cleanse with Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil and either use a lighter anti-aging oil or a richer face cream like Weleda Skin Food.

On my bedside table are…

…a stack of books (I’ve just finished Toni Morrison’s Song of Solomon and A Childhood by Harry Crews), a Régime des Fleurs candle, a Cartier clock, a picture of my sweetheart and an eye mask.

The best piece of beauty advice I’ve received…

…is to stand up straight, suck in your stomach, put on some blush and don’t touch your face.
