  • White Sox's Korey Lee: Drives in two

Lee went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Saturday against the Phillies.

Lee has earned two or three starts per week for most of the season and has shown some promise with the bat. His double on Saturday marked his third extra-base hit of the season across 35 plate appearances, and he also has four RBI and four runs scored. Lee hasn't looked out of place at the plate, as he's striking out at just a 17.1 percent clip with a .273 average.

  • White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: First RBI of season

Jimenez went 2-for-5 with an RBI on Saturday against the Phillies.

Jimenez entered Saturday's game having gone 0-for-10 with three strikeouts and three walks since being activated from the injured list. He delivered a pair of singles against the Phillies, with the latter driving in a run during a ninth-inning rally to mark his first RBI of the campaign. Jimenez is off to a miserable start through 29 plate appearances this season, as he has yet to record an extra-base hit and has only one run scored while hitting .154.

  • White Sox's Michael Soroka: Struggles again in Philadelphia

Soroka (0-3) took the loss Saturday in Philadelphia, permitting five runs on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out two batters.

Soroka needed a season-high 100 pitches to cover 4.2 shaky innings. The right-hander had a solid start in Kansas City earlier this month, but his other four have all been dreadful. With 15 walks over 24 innings, Soroka's lack of control has been particularly alarming, as he doesn't have the swing-and-miss ability (12 strikeouts) to make up for it. Given how little he's pitched at the major-league level over the last few years, it would be understandable if it takes the former top prospect a while to get his feet under him. That said, this current version of Soroka simply can't be trusted in fantasy leagues.

  • White Sox's Paul DeJong: Leaves game following HBP

DeJong was lifted from Saturday's game against the Phillies after being hit on the left arm by a pitch, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

DeJong initially stayed in the game after being struck by a Zack Wheeler offering in the top of the fifth inning, but he was eventually removed prior to the bottom of the sixth. He is likely being sent for tests, with more information on his condition possibly available after the contest.

  • White Sox's Josimar Cousin: Clears waivers

Cousin cleared waivers Saturday and was outrighted to Double-A Birmingham.

Cousin will officially remain in the White Sox's farm system after being pushed off the 40-man roster Tuesday. The 26-year-old righty allowed four runs in nine innings at Double-A last year and has yet to pitch this season.

  • White Sox's Robbie Grossman: Not starting Saturday

Grossman isn't in the White Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Grossman has fallen into an 0-for-9 skid since having his five-game hitting streak snapped, and he'll now sit for the second straight game Saturday. His absence will allow Gavin Sheets to start in right field, batting third.

  • White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Idle Saturday

Sosa isn't in the White Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against Philadelphia.

Sosa is 0-for-8 in his last three games, so he'll get a chance to clear his head Saturday. While he sits, Braden Shewmake will pick up a start at third base and bat ninth.

  • White Sox's Martin Maldonado: Sits down Saturday

Maldonado isn't in the White Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Maldonado is just 2-for-35 through 14 games, and he'll sit down as the White Sox look to get more production from the catcher position. Korey Lee will start at catcher and bat eighth.

  • White Sox's Garrett Crochet: Struggles in Philly

Crochet (1-3) took the loss Friday against the Phillies, allowing seven runs on five hits and two walks across three-plus innings. He struck out three.

Crochet was done in by the long ball, as he allowed a pair of three-run homers to Alec Bohm before Whit Merrifield led off the fourth with a solo shot, forcing Crochet out of the game. After an excellent start this year, the 24-year-old left-hander has now allowed 12 runs over 7.2 innings in his last two outings. Crochet's ERA is up to 5.61 despite an excellent 1.01 WHIP and 34:6 K:BB across five starts (25.2 innings). He'll look to bounce back in his next outing, currently scheduled for next week in Minnesota.

  • White Sox's Jonathan Cannon: Gets another start

Cannon will start Monday in Minnesota, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Cannon had a solid major-league debut Wednesday against the Royals, tossing five innings of one-run ball. It has earned him at least one additional start in the majors, although that could be it since Mike Clevinger is due to join the White Sox before long.

  • White Sox's Nicky Lopez: Hit in loss

Lopez went 1-for-2 in a 2-1 win over Kansas City on Wednesday.

It's been a difficult start to the season for the 29-year-old, as Lopez's slash line sits at .167/.255/.167 through 49 plate appearances. The infielder has yet to tally an extra-base hit and he's been a liability on the rare occasions that he's gotten on base, having been thrown out four times this season without a successful steal. He signed a one-year, $4.3 million contract with the White Sox this offseason largely for his defense, but Lopez will need to add something on the offensive side of the ball if he wants to keep seeing regular playing time.

  • White Sox's Cody Sedlock: Gets minors deal from ChiSox

Sedlock signed a minor-league contract with the White Sox on Wednesday.

The 28-year-old made one appearance with the Orioles in 2022 before being traded to the Tigers and eventually released. He didn't pitch anywhere in 2023 and has been assigned to Chicago's Arizona Complex League affiliate for the time being. Sedlock was a first-round pick by the O's in 2016, but he has battled numerous arm issues during his career.

  • White Sox's John Brebbia: Set to begin rehab assignment

Brebbia (calf) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Brebbia is eligible for activation from the 15-day injured list Sunday, and it would appear he could be back at that time if he can get through Friday's rehab appearance without any hiccups. The veteran reliever has been out the last two weeks with a right calf strain, which was an apparent aggravation of an injury he suffered back in February.

  • White Sox's Nick Nastrini: Draws another start

Nastrini is scheduled to start Sunday's game in Philadelphia.

The rookie right-hander will receive another turn through the White Sox rotation after he acquitted himself well in his MLB debut Monday, striking out five and allowing two earned runs on three hits and two walks over five innings in a no-decision against the Royals. Though Nastrini was able to pound the zone effectively Monday, fantasy managers may want to tread cautiously with him, given the control issues he's displayed for much of his minor-league career. Between stops at the Triple-A and Double-A levels within the White Sox and Dodgers organizations in 2023, Nastrini posted a 10.8 percent walk rate over 114.2 innings.

  • White Sox's Eloy Jimenez: Earns three walks across twin bill

Jimenez went 0-for-5 with three walks and a run scored across both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Royals.

Jimenez was in the lineup for the first time since being activated from the injured list, and he served as the designated hitter in both contests while batting cleanup. It's also possible that Jimenez will see time in the outfield, though the team may be cautious with his usage given his lengthy injury history.
