Bedford resident Chazz Palminteri, known for his 1993 film "A Bronx Tale," as well as other roles, most recently as Shorty in ABC's "Modern Family," will open an Italian restaurant in White Plains.

According to business partner Jack Sinanaj, Chazz Palminteri Restaurant & Pizza, will take over what had been Anthony's Coal-Fired Pizza. (Anthony's closed this summer and had been in White Plains for 10 years.) Sinanaj and his two brothers own Chazz Palminteri Italian Restaurant as well as Ben & Jack's Steakhouse and Empire Steakhouse, all in Manhattan, along with Empire Steakhouse in Tokyo.

The restaurant will feature coal-fired thin pizzas along with other Italian specialties, fresh pastas, fish and meat. In addition, there will be a market element so diners can pick up items, such as family-sized lasagnas, to go.

Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza, at 264 Main Street in White Plains, will reopen under new ownership as Chazz Palminteri Restaurant & Pizza in November.

Sinanaj knows the environment is challenging for restaurants but has been interested in expanding to Westchester for awhile and believes with good food and service, people will come. Opening day will depend on permit approvals — they are also doing renovations to the space, he said — but the goal is sometime in November.

The restaurant is located at 264 Main Street.
