Whale watching - Is chatgpt AI 's response accurate?

Questions:

is there any beach in queensland I can get to see the whales?

Chatgpt:

Yes, there are several beaches in Queensland where you may be able to see whales. Here are a few options:

Hervey Bay: Hervey Bay is considered one of the best places in the world for whale watching. It's located on the Fraser Coast, about 300 km north of Brisbane. Humpback whales are commonly seen here between July and November.

Gold Coast: The Gold Coast is another popular spot for whale watching. The best time to see the whales is between May and November. Some of the beaches where you might be able to see them include Coolangatta, Kirra Beach, and Burleigh Heads.

Sunshine Coast: The Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane, is also a good place for whale watching. Some of the best spots include Point Cartwright, Noosa National Park, and Mooloolaba Beach. Humpback whales are usually seen here between June and November.

Yes there are beaches from which you can see the whales for free.

Just like any wildlife adventure, what you can see varies considerably even over the course of n hour

If you want to really see whales, pay for a cruise. Seeing him up close is very different from seeing a vague spot several hundred metres off the beach.

Cheers.

Most whales have left these waters by October. Chances of seeing any in November are slim.

Yes the chat bot is correct.

But as others say- you are on a beach waiting to see them and they can be way out and you will need binoculars. You could be there a while.

We have seen off Fraser, noosa national park at Hells gate, burleigh and good views at the lighthouse at Byron- but its all luck if you are at the shore.

I agree, November is usually too late, they are already much further south.

About 6 or 7 years ago, I went out on Nov 1st with Sea World from the Gold Coast. Before we sailed they warned us we may not see any whales as there were only likely a few stragglers left. They gave us the chance to get off and get a refund. I took my chances but the gamble didn’t pay off. We saw quite a few turtles and do,phins but no whales.

I went to Hervey Bay in September and saw loads on a cruise.

I was also at. I halo in September and we kept arriving at beach side viewing points to be told you have just missed them. It’s a lottery trying to view them from land.

Thank you so much guys! We are not sure if we have time for a cruise out to see the whales, lighthouse at Byron is on my list at the moment. Will definitely bring a binocular along and try our luck. Thanks again folks!
