Monday, July 23 is a happy day for Roger Federer. The Swiss player's two daughters, Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, celebrate their ninth birthday. In 2009, the tennis legend and his wife Mirka Vavrinec became parents for the first time, just a few months after their wedding that took place in April during the same year.

Federer played his first tournament as a dad in August at the 2009 Rogers Cup in Montreal. The campaign wasn't really lucky for him as he lost to the Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarter-finals. Mirka then gave birth twins again, this time two boys, in April 2014 as Leo and Lenny were born.

Myla and Charlene are not that young anymore, and they understand that their father is a tennis star. In December 2017, speaking after being awarded as the best Swiss sportsman of the year, the 20-time Grand Slam recalled a funny conversation he had with his daughters.

'After dinner, my kids asked me where I was going. I told them there is this awards gala where I could win a prize. Then they said: 'But isn't Rafa (Nadal) number 1?!' They often attend Roger's matches from his player's box, although sometimes they prefer to read books or joke together.

They also have a beautiful relationship with the son of Federer's agent, Tony Godsick. In 2014 Halle, after the now 36-year-old champion's win over Colombia's Alejandro Falla, they joked with Severin Luthi. One of the most beautiful moments was 2015 Cincinnati when Federer hugged them on the grounds after defeating Novak Djokovic in the final.
