We are delighted to have this absolute legend back at the Cavern – Lydia Lunch is an American singer, poet, writer, actress and self-empowerment speaker. Her career began during the 1970s New York City no wave scene as the singer and guitarist of Teenage Jesus and the Jerks.
Her work typically features provocative and confrontational noise music delivery, and has maintained an anti-commercial ethic, operating independently of major labels and distributors. DOORS 7:00

SPOTLIGHTS EXETER CAVERN Fri 7 June
If you don’t know who Spotlights are, or haven’t heard their name, then you haven’t been paying attention. Mario, Sarah and Chris are one of the hardest working new bands out there – plugging away on tour after tour, earning every fan they have, whether it’s Chino Moreno, or the bartender at a local club. During 2016, the group gained traction with their debut album, Tidals, earning coveted spots on tours with Deftones (we did say Chino is a fan), and Refused. Not long after, they caught the attention of Ipecac Recordings, releasing Seismic in 2017, touring relentlessly (again, enjoying word of mouth amongst musicians to land outings with the Mr. Bungle, Quicksand, Pallbearer, etc) and worked right into the studio, releasing Love & Decay in 2019.

MARUJA EXETER CAVERN Fri 5th April
From obscurity to notability, Manchester four-piece Maruja’s continual rise has yet to meet its upward limit. The convergence of vocalist and guitarist Harry Wilkinson, drummer Jacob Hayes, bassist Matt Buonaccorsi and saxophonist Joe Carroll makes for a formidable end result. Maruja’s bold and intense live performances permeate through into the studio recordings, creating a piercing nuance.
