Catherine Annette "Cathy Ann" Che (nee Vanderbilt): is a recurring character performed by Cecily Strong.

SNL[]

Cathy Ann appeared on ''Weekend Update'', introduced by Michael Che as "the woman who's always yelling outside my window". On Weekend Update December 9, 2017, Cathy Ann announced that she was engaged to the Weekend Update Anchor Michael Che (this was not referring to the marital status of her actress Cecily Strong).

On Weekend Update January 26, 2019, Cathy Ann announced that her name was "Catherine Annette Vanderbilt". Annette may be a nod to Annette "Leslie" Jones, a fellow SNL actor, since it is her birth name but she goes by the stage name "Leslie".

Her birthday is February 8th, sharing her birthday date with her actress Cecily Strong. On February 8, 2020 SNL Weekend Update sketch, she joked that she was turning 21, likely a reference to the fact that the same day, her actress, Cecily Strong, celebrated her 36th birthday.

She next appeared on Update on January 30, 2021, talking about COVID-19 and the Jan. 6 Insurrection.

The character last appeared on December 17, 2022, as a farewell to Strong, who left the show following this episode. She was talking about how she would go to 'jail' for a while due to all the things she's told Che over the years, but isn't worried due to the fact that she has some buddies waiting for her in "prison" (followed by a picture of Strong's former longtime castmates Aidy Bryant and Kate McKinnon), she then slightly breaks character and delivers a goodbye message to the audience. She then mentions that she and Colin Jost did Weekend Update together and brought up a picture of when they really were doing Update together. Strong (back in character as Cathy-Ann) then sings a brief parody of My Way, titled, "I did it high, Che" (likely a reference to the fact that she already sang this song for the Season 46 finale, and people assumed she was leaving then).
