The Real Reason Why Carrie Ann Inaba Is Wearing Wigs on Dancing With the Stars for Season 29
Dancing With the Stars has seen a slew of changes for season 29. Even at the (newly socially distant) judges' table, we have a new face in six-time champion Derek Hough and a new hair color in silver fox Bruno Tonioli. But eagle-eyed viewers have noticed different looks also coming from Carrie Ann Inaba too.
On Sunday, Inaba posted an Instagram pic of her dressing room. Behind her blonde bombshell look is a series of mannequin heads sporting different wigs, from bobs to bangs, with the caption, "Which one of you is next?"

This was a surprising revelation to DWTS fans, as Inaba has said in previous posts that, unlike other female celebrities, she doesn't wear wigs. When asked about the change, she responded with a very surprising reason.
"I [had] to take a medication that could cause hair loss," she wrote, "so we planned a season of mostly wigs just in case. When I took the medications, I had too many negative side effects so I had to stop it for a moment but we were already ready with a plan. So we stuck to it."
Inaba has been open in recent years about living with a number of conditions, such as spinal stenosis, Sjögren’s syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain and fibromyalgia. She didn't elaborate on which condition she was treating with her most recent medication.
