Charles Heith Maxwell was born October 15, 1978 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Lynwood and Louise Moore Maxwell. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1997. Heith furthered his education beginning at Georgia Southwestern and most recently earned an Education Specialist degree from University of Phoenix. Heith served staff and students as the Principal of Bainbridge Middle School and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Heith has always been a champion of the underdog. He worked his way through the ranks of sports, school, work and life with a humbleness that made him approachable. Heith loved unconditionally and shared that love with his staff and students. He enjoyed working out, playing any sport, and especially coaching. His greatest gift was inspiring others. He never met a stranger and hardly ever forgot a path he crossed with you.  He had a sense of humor and could be heard saying “aw come on now” with that Go Gators! grin. Heith’s girls were his life and every moment he spent being Dad brought him unspeakable joy.

His sports career spans decades and leaves a legacy with hundreds of teammates, players, parents, and coaches. Heith was a two year letterman and team captain in 1997 for the Bainbridge High School Boys Varsity Soccer Team. He received a soccer scholarship to Thomas College.

He was fiercely competitive on the field and always played to win. He coached Bainbridge High School Boys Varsity Soccer from 2003-2005. The Bearcats made the state playoffs in 2003 with their first ten win season and first state playoff appearance. The next season, the 2004 team won 23 games and returned to the state playoffs.

His last three teams as 8th Grade Basketball head coach had a combined record of 38-1 with two undefeated teams. And of course, Heith’s pride and joy…middle school football. The final seven years he coached, his teams had a combined record of 44-2 with 6 South Georgia Championships and 6 undefeated seasons.

Heith Maxwell was “that guy” and he believed with his whole heart #OnceABearcatAlwaysABearcat.

Survivors include his wife of almost 17 years, Tiffany Todd Maxwell; his daughters, Jaycee Elizabeth Maxwell, Caroline Jade Maxwell, and Charlieann Lynlee Maxwell; his mother, Louise Maxwell and her husband, Gerry; his in-laws, Kent & Linda Culverson Croom; his siblings, Jennifer Ard of Bainbridge, GA and Eric Maxwell of Duluth, GA; and a host of extended family. Heith was preceded in death by his father, Lynwood Maxwell.
