Canoga Park High School Reviews
Rating 3.74 out of 5 257 reviews
My overall experience with Canoga Park High School was okay. I wish there were more fun ideas for the seniors to do. All we do here for seniors are just picnics. The food is also not that great, in my opinion. All I eat are the cookies and ice cream, or if I'm hungry I buy from the vending machine or the student store. The lunch lines are worse. People cut in front of people and there are supposed to be "guards" looking out for people who cut but all they do is talk to students. It bothers me because I'm always getting cut in line. I think the school doesn't take things seriously and their "solutions" are not that good.
I would love to see more performing arts. We have a theater teacher but I wish it was a more well-known program. I came to this school for theater, but when I got here, it disappeared, and now that I'm a senior and barely have time for anything, it has been a more active program. I also wish we would read some different books. We read the same books every year despite people complaining about the racial slurs (such as the n-word) in them As a female black student, it is difficult to see this word written in books, and hear it around campus, and barely anything be done. Other than that, I love this school with my whole heart.
I have been at canoga since my freshman year. I honestly didn’t really like freshman year because I didn’t get the opportunity to be on campus because of COVID. However, I did get straight A’s. I think my favorite year was my sophomore year because it was my first year on campus and everything was so fun and new to me. I honestly liked my teachers and met a lot of people that I will definitely keep in touch with after I graduate. I think junior year I struggled a lot and wish that teachers were a little bit more considerate. I think the teachers are pretty understanding although some can be way more understanding than others. I think Canoga provides students with good education and more than enough resources that will help us perform better academically.
