      Pros

PTO is good, coworkers are mostly good people. A good place to grow thick skin.

      Cons

A lot falls on the shoulders of branch employees. We're expected to know a lot, do a lot, and often do not have the support of other departments that would be very helpful. In my opinion, the pay for the MEA role is far too low. We are the backbone of the credit union, yet we are not supported by management. The lack of individual performance tracking creates an environment where people can get by on the hard work of others. There is no incentive to do well other than the "scorecard" which is just a joke.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights. We value your feedback and want to address your concerns. We appreciate your recognition of the positive aspects of our workplace, such as our competitive PTO and the camaraderie among coworkers. However, we acknowledge your concerns regarding the workload and support for branch team members, as well as the compensation for the MEA role. Regarding compensation, we understand the importance of fair pay for the contributions of our team members. We strive to offer competitive salaries and continually review our overall compensation structure to ensure it aligns with the value and responsibilities associated with our positions. We are currently exploring ways to enhance our performance tracking processes to promote accountability. Please understand that our process was revised from a standard performance evaluation process to accommodate our approach which supported the shift to performance conversations. In terms of management, we are committed to fostering a culture of accountability and leadership excellence. Regarding team member perks, we believe in a holistic approach to team member well-being. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to continuously improve our workplace environment. If you would like to discuss your feedback in further detail, please reach out to me.

There are no pros, every day the mangers get a little more strict and place more restrictions on employees

            Cons

I would steer clear of this company, they are starting to show signs of a company downsize as the economy fails to recover. You know what you are worth they will treat you like an outsider unless you’re a manager

              Pros

Nothing. Soul sucking management. They want things done and have no idea on how they should be completed. PTO is probably the only thing that seems good here. But even with that, your team can’t function without you so you can’t take PTO.

              Cons

Upper management has been the biggest complaint when it comes to my role. Certain team members have been excellent to work with. However, I have no idea who is hiring these individuals who have zero skills when it comes to their roles. Great, you worked in this industry but how does that correlate to this? It’s difficult when management wants to include these processes/integrations, and yet does not fully understand or care to learn about the processes they want to include. Management completely relies on the lower members to handle all their work. I’ve only taken PTO a couple of times and have had management call me because they are incapable of understanding the current procedures. Here’s a thought, actually hire people and actually verify that they know how to do there job. It would make things run a lot smoother. They talk about family and yet everyone is sectioned off in there own little clicks.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. The Culture + Engagement department works collaboratively with Hiring Managers to make informed hiring decisions that we believe will benefit the Lake Trust team overall. The team works diligently to qualify candidates based upon the requirements for the role. We do understand the impact that the lack of staffing can have on Managers’ approval of PTO requests. Coverage needs are important which makes it critical that they approve time off in a consistent manner that supports our commitment to maintaining adequate staffing levels to support both our team and our members. I welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns in more detail if you are open to it.

Company strives to create a supportive culture and work-life balance.

                Cons

Not enough career growth opportunies for the team members working in branches across the state. Constant turnover. Takes 1-2 years to fully learn role and many employees leave before that 2 year mark. The Univeral Role requires employees to learn everything which leads to very few experts in handling member needs. Employees make alot of errors while learning and it requires a lot of time spent fixing problems.

Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the career growth opportunities and turnover in our branches. We take pride in our dedication to internal promotions whenever feasible, although we understand that opportunities may sometimes be constrained. We take your input seriously and acknowledge the challenges you've highlighted. We understand that it takes time to fully master a role, and the turnover can hinder this process. We are actively looking into ways to address this issue and create a more supportive and nurturing environment for our team members. We are committed to refining our training programs to reduce errors and make the transition smoother. Pros

I've worked at a lot of places and Lake Trust checks all the boxes: great people working toward a great cause, great benefits, competitive pay, great work/life balance, great facilities, great training, great support, great perks, progressive culture... I've worked here almost 7 years and there's nothing I can complain about. Not many places have it all, but I can say confidently that Lake Trust does. I can't say enough good things about working here. If you're looking for a career change, definitely take a tour of the headquarters and you'll see what I'm talking about!

                  Cons

In 7 years I haven't experienced any significant cons worth mentioning. Every place has flaws, for example, one time the coffee machine broke for a week, but I survived. :)

Thank you for your valuable feedback and positive outlook!

                    Pros

Good pay and benefits. Most people very are nice. Manager is nice but doesn’t understand the work we do and has very little experience in the field.

                    Cons

My department is not respected and our team is not motivated. The CEO only speaks your first week. After that he ignores you. Walk by him and try to speak and he does not acknowledge you. But you see him interact with the same few people all the time. There is supposedly 3 days of mandatory time in the office and that is irrational. My manager and leader are flexible and have shared that they don’t understand why we have to do it and for our team makes adjustments which I appreciate. Apparently our department keeps losing people because of this non progressive rule and the lack of understanding of our department’s role in the company. The managers on my team are nice but they seem to not be strong in our field.

Thank you for sharing your perspective regarding the mandatory in-office requirement. We appreciate your feedback, and it's valuable in helping us understand how certain policies impact our team members. Prior to the pandemic, all team members were working 5 days a week in office. As an organization, we have opted to maintain a slightly adjusted hybrid schedule for team members who meet the eligibility criteria. Your concerns about attrition and the perceived lack of understanding of your department's role are noted. I am open to further discussion if you would like to connect with me.

                        Pros

Great place to learn, they have a great training program and a lot of people will to help if you take the time to make friends networking with departments you advocate with...ie; Credit Counsel, Fraud, Lending, IT, etc. Many great people to learn from to make your time a success.

                        Cons

You do have to have a thick skin, dealing with people's money isn't always pleasant. You have to be able to keep composure and remain professional while de-escalating a problem member. But.....if you establish a good relationship and help the member, you make a great experience that carries you on to the next.

Thank you for being a member of our team and for your review! You've highlighted a crucial aspect of our work - the need for resilience and professionalism, especially when handling sensitive matters related to our members' finances. Building positive relationships with our members, even during challenging situations, can lead to truly rewarding experiences. It's these moments of assistance and support that create a lasting impression and contribute to our overall success.

AHH *screams internally* I have made it through the full process of 3 rounds of interviews at a company and got scheduled with the hiring manager for a 30 min meeting in a few days. They then emailed a couple days later and asked if I was available to also meet with the COO afterwards for 30 minutes. What does all of this mean? I’m a bit paranoid since this is the second time I’ve made it this far and I really want this one…

I interviewed for a role and made it to the panel and when following up a week later, hr responded with “We’re just waiting for approval to move forward. They put a hold on all of our reqs and are releasing them slowly. Should know something my Tuesday of next week.” It’s already Wednesday so I know nothing about the situation and if and when to follow up again. Any advice would be great! The position is at a big bank
