Matthew McConaughey Shows Off His Three Adorable Kids on the Red Carpet During Rare Appearance

Matthew McConaughey made the Wednesday occasion a family affair by bringing his wife, mom and three young children to walk the red carpet with him

Matthew McConaughey‘s three little ones are all grown up!

The Serenity actor was honored at the Texas Medal of Arts Awards in Austin on Wednesday, and made the occasion a family affair by bringing his wife Camila Alves, mom Kay and three young children to walk the red carpet with him.

McConaughey, 49, and Alves rarely put their kids in the spotlight, but Livingston, 6, Vida, 9, and Levi, 10, appeared more than happy to mug for the cameras next to their mom and dad.

Levi looked dapper in a beige plaid suit, while sister Vida kept it classy in a light-purple dress with strappy black shoes. Youngest child Livingston, meanwhile, opted for a three-piece black suit complete with a bow tie.

The Oscar winner’s mom Kay, 87, was also on hand, smiling for photos with her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren in a chic blue dress.

The three kids seldom join their famous parents in the limelight but occasionally make appearances, like at the premiere of Sing in 2016 and when McConaughey was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2014.

Alves, 37, also shares photos of the children every so often to her Instagram account. In June of last year, she posted a sweet family snapshot in honor of Father’s Day.

“I can sit here and write a long text … but, words cannot describe … Period. Thank you,” she wrote.

McConaughey has previously spoken about his children’s independent streaks, and just how much discipline he and Alves instill into the sibling trio.

“We mix the ‘alright, alright, alright’ into the discipline,” he joked to Savannah Guthrie on the Today show in September. “The main thing is that my wife and I, Camila, we have a similar moral bottom line. And as you learn, if you have kids, every day they get older, you realize how much more it’s really DNA.”

He continued, “We can nudge ’em and shepherd ’em, et cetera et cetera, but they are who they are. And right now, I’m just happy to say we have three healthy ones and they’re very much individuals.”
