Get to Know: Cameron Harper

Harper

Our new winger, Cameron Harper, was born and raised in California to Scottish parents. He moved to Scotland to play for Celtic FC in 2018 and has been called-up by the U.S. Under-20 National Team, coached by Anthony Hudson.

This 2020-21 season, Harper made the bench for Celtic’s league matches against Dundee and Motherwell. He also made the bench in a Champions League second qualifying round match against Hungary’s Ferencvaros.

Earlier this year on Jan. 11, Harper started for Celtic in league play. Harper worked his way up in Celtic from the Under-18s to the Reserves, up to to the point of starting for the First-Team.

In an interview with Celtic, Harper gave a good description on the type of player that he is: “I say I can play three positions - left wing, right wing and striker. No matter where I go, I’m willing to work hard for the team, willing to run in behind, willing to get on the ball.

“I feel like I’m quite dangerous,” he added. “I feel like I'm an exciting player, if I get the ball, I can make things happen. I like getting the ball in dangerous areas, and I feel if I’m playing in the front-3, that’s where I’m going to make the most impact.”
