- Frank O'ConnorDublin, Ireland70 contributionsThis is a lovely place to stay. Clean, modern and also classical. The porter is thoroughly welcoming and helpful. The gardens are a wonder. We sat in deckchairs and soaked up the atmosphere. The room is not air conditioned and has no tv but we did not need eitherWritten August 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - maybeitsbecauseimalondonerCambridge, UK3 contributionsThere's such a peaceful atmosphere at Magdalene College and the setting by the river is amazing. We also enjoyed the quietness of the chapel and in the springtime the flowers (especially the wisteria) are magnificent. They have built an amazing new architecturally stunning library which contrasts with the historic Samuel Pepys one and the other old buildings of the college. If you're in Cambridge, worth a walk through.Written May 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Pamsy17Little Shelford, UK11 contributionsWhat an incredible experience, especially for my daughter who has a fear of flying.
James was so kind and encouraging; taking his time to explain how a plane works. He really cared and it showed.
I came across the experience whilst looking for something to do with the kids on a rainy afternoon.
James explained that it’s a simulator but that it might help with fear of flying because you get an understating of how to fly a plane and also it’s pretty exciting, so we thought we’d give it a go!
We were so glad we did - a fabulous way to spend an afternoon! Thank you, James.Written August 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JHNB1Cambridge, UK235 contributionsWe visited the Berlin Circus on the Common. Excellent circus in a super location. The Common is one of the largest open spaces just outside the center of Cambridge and is big enough to house the circus tent and all adjoining equipment and the-caravan with ease. Cycles are allowed so we took care as cycles and pedestrians do not mix well. The Common flows down to the River Cam where there is lots to see too. Great space if you have time to explore.Written September 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- macedonboyGlasgow, UK179,824 contributionsSt Catharine's is the one of the colleges of Cambridge to have been founded by the serving head of another college, Robert Woodlark, for reasons that are not entirely clear. He stipulated that the fellows would only study theology and philosophy, so maybe that was the reason. Architecturally, the quadrangle is notable for being an open court, with three sides of renaissance style buildings and one side gated on Trumpington Street.Written October 27, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - macedonboyGlasgow, UK179,824 contributionsFounded in 1882 in honour of George Augustus Selwyn, a clergyman and the first Bishop of New Zealand. One of the most architecturally diverse of the Cambridge colleges, the college has a mix of Neo-Gothic as in the Selwyn College Tower and Classicism in Ann's Court.Written October 26, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TUFCDunblane, Scotland145 contributionsWe had finished visiting Jesus collage and saw notice boards outside this church saying it was arts and craft .
From the outside its a small pretty urban church with a nondescript brown wooden door but inside ......wow
It's a riot of colour with decorated walls with red , green gold and beautiful stained glass designed by some of the greats from the arts and crafts movement. My favourite was the ceiling with either a design on the roundels where the wood met or phrases in gold along the beams
There was a very helpful chap we chatted to about the church
We found this by pure chance and it was only open as a meeting was going to be held there later that morning
If you are nearby and you find the boards out do visit . It's beautiful and quiet which makes a lovely change from the madding crowds outside
It's free to visit but donations can be leftWritten August 5, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
