Admission into Year 7
Calderstones has an admission number of around 270 students in Year 7 each year. For the past decade-plus, the school has been heavily over-subscribed on entry to Year 7 and there is always a significant waiting list of students wishing to join us.
Because Calderstones is a maintained school, the City Council’s Admissions Team allocates these places to the school.

The key dates for those students who are due to start secondary school in September 2023 are as follows:
- You can apply online via the above link from September 1st 2023.
- The closing date for Year 7 applications is October 31st 2023.
- Places will be officially awarded at the start of March 2024.
