Caitlin Clark Hyped as 'Real Deal' By WNBA Fans Despite Fever Preseason Loss to Wings

Caitlin Clark made a strong first impression in her WNBA preseason debut on Friday night.
Although the Indiana Fever fell to the Dallas Wings by the final score of 79-76, Clark showcased her signature long-range shooting ability throughout the game.
She started off strong, scoring 11 points in her first seven minutes of action. She ended the night with 21 points and three rebounds, shooting 40 percent from the field although she connected on 38.5 percent of her 13 attempts from behind the arc.
While a potential game-tying three-pointer from Clark missed just before the end of the fourth quarter, the NCAA's all-time leading scorer still finished with plenty of highlight-worthy plays.
Aliyah Boston, the 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year, struggled to find an offensive rhythm for Indiana, recording just eight points on 4-10 shooting. She grabbed eight rebounds in 30 minutes of action, however.
Fans were amazed by Clark in particular, as her dominance throughout her college days at Iowa already appears to be translating to the professional level.

While she may not be on the Hawkeyes anymore, Clark showed no signs of slowing down with the Fever. She'll look to improve upon her first game and potentially secure a victory in Indiana's next preseason contest on May 9.
