Instructions for Applying for Admission

Applications due by april 15, 2024

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

The applicant must have earned an acceptable bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
whose requirements for the particular degree are substantially equivalent to those of The City
University of New York.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION MATERIALS

To apply to the Writers’ Institute you must complete the online application form found through the link at the bottom of this section and upload a writing sample (15 pages maximum) via the online form as a document or URL link. You must also have one letter of recommendation on letterhead sent to aaciman@gc.cuny.edu.

Please note that all materials become the property of The Graduate Center and will not be returned to the applicant.

Tuition

Tuition for the year is $10,000. Neither The Writers' Institute nor the CUNY Graduate Center offer scholarships or financial aid for participation in this non-degree program.
